When the Earth comes out of an ice age, the warming is not initiated by CO2 but by changes in the Earth's orbit. The warming causes the oceans to release CO2. The CO2 amplifies the warming and mixes through the atmosphere, spreading warming throughout the planet. So CO2 causes warming AND rising temperature causes CO2 rise. Overall, about 90% of the global warming occurs after the CO2 increase. CO2 is a greenhouse gas.
Yes... that is the speculation. I suspect its correct. So in the beginning of the cycle co2 may help warm. But we know from NASA experiments CO2 also cools by form a shield. and.... co2's warming ability diminishes logarithmically. therefore... if by adding co2 we are also increasing its cooling ability... eventually it becomes more of a shield than a blanket.
No, it doesn't. Take your meds. You may live in the stratosphere with the other crazed lying sacks of shit, but the rest of us live in the troposphere.
if the co2 in the upper atmosphere blocks the sun's warming energy... it certainly will not reach your cave.
But it doesn't block the shorter wavelengths. You need a little remedial reading on how GHG's work. A greenhouse gas (sometimes abbreviated GHG) is a gas in an atmosphere that absorbs and emits radiation within the thermal infrared range. This process is the fundamental cause of the greenhouse effect.[1] The primary greenhouse gases in the Earth's atmosphere are water vapor, carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, and ozone. Greenhouse gases greatly affect the temperature of the Earth; without them, Earth's surface would average about 33 °C colder, which is about 59 °F below the present average of 14 °C (57 °F).[2][3][4] Since the beginning of the Industrial Revolution (taken as the year 1750), the burning of fossil fuels and extensive clearing of native forests has contributed to a 40% increase in the atmospheric concentration of carbon dioxide, from 280 to 392.6 parts per million (ppm) in 2012.[5][6] and has now reached 400 ppm in the northern hemisphere. This increase has occurred despite the uptake of a large portion of the emissions by various natural "sinks" involved in the carbon cycle.[7][8] Anthropogenic carbon dioxide (CO 2) emissions (i.e., emissions produced by human activities) come from combustion of carbon-based fuels, principally wood, coal, oil, and natural gas.[9] Under ongoing greenhouse gas emissions, available Earth System Models project that the Earth's surface temperature could exceed historical analogs as early as 2047 affecting most ecosystems on Earth and the livelihoods of over 3 billion people worldwide.[10] Greenhouse gases also trigger[clarification needed] ocean bio-geochemical changes with broad ramifications in marine systems.[11]
By the year 2100, ecosystems will be exposed to atmospheric CO 2 levels substantially higher than in the past 650,000 years, and global temperatures at least among the highest of those experienced in the past 740,000 years.[136] Significant disruptions of ecosystems are projected to increase with future climate change.[137] Examples of disruptions include disturbances such as fire, drought, pest infestation, invasion of species, storms, and coral bleaching events. The stresses caused by climate change, added to other stresses on ecological systems (e.g., land conversion, land degradation, harvesting, and pollution), threaten substantial damage to or complete loss of some unique ecosystems, and extinction of some critically endangered species.[137][138] Climate change has been estimated to be a major driver of biodiversity loss in cool conifer forests, savannas, mediterranean-climate systems, tropical forests, in the Arctic tundra, and in coral reefs.[139] In other ecosystems, land-use change may be a stronger driver of biodiversity loss at least in the near-term.[139] Beyond the year 2050, climate change may be the major driver for biodiversity loss globally.[139]
No shit. But ecosystems don't like change, let alone rapid change like we are seeing now and which will only get worse. The Anthropocene will see a huge die-off of species. Partly we can blame disinforming evil lying sacks of shit like you for it. Special place in hell jerm.
you have no idea what you are talking about. you just spew speculation as if it is fact. of course things are changing... we are trying to feed 7 billion people. We may need the co2 for all we know. when I ask you for proof that man made co2 causes warming... you produce absolutely zero science... other than failed models. I don't know if adding man made co2 does nothing, increases cooling or increases warming in our current environment because science does not know. it does not even understand water vapor which is a far bigger driver.
