Off-topic, forgive me but your Colorado occupies a special place in my psyche for both good and bad reasons ................ good for the outstanding scenery and Nature at its finest but bad for this one incident that set me back bigtime .... a few years ago. Driving from Los Angeles to New York city in a Porsche 911SC on an adventure with a black-haired fox in the passenger seat taking the curves like a champ with the top down, then disaster struck outside Durango. The engine went dead. It tooks hours for help to get to us. Tow truck flat bed showed up and took the car in and we checked into a Hotel. THE garage was the only one in the town. They said they had a resident Porsche expert who would fix it for us. 7 days and the expert knew doodly squat. The fox said, "I'll call my Dad, he'll know what to do" .............. but her Dad is a New York guy. She replied, "it don't matter, you'll see!" Within 15 minites of the call to NYC, a Porsche dealer in California was calling the black-haired fox. And all he said was, "YOUR CHAIN TENSIONER HAS SNAPPED - we are flying Todd over on the next plane to bring you all HOME and we will fix the car here in LA" Fast forward to end of story ............. entire right side of engine gone by the chain tensioner. Dealer replaced it all and put in new stuff that I had not even asked for, essentially making it a brand new car ..................... how much do I owe you? Zip! he said. I asked the black-haired fox wtf was goin on with the freebie and she replied, "I'm Jewish, its what we do, we get help fast" Turns out dealer was Jewish and fox's Pops was none other than - - - - - - We - - -, a Jew, a top diamond cutter in USA. The good thing that came out of all this was that after finding out who he was, I got to meet him when he flew us out to NYC. 5th avenue .................. stayed with him and his young British girlfriend and it was then that the picture of TRADER extraordiaire that came in years later stuck in my mind when the thought was, "I want to be like him"
%% Sounds crazy like a Fox; but that's a figure of speech. I've never seen a crazy fox. But some thing not crazy about it; a cash fund never could never have a forced sale like a leveraged fund. A leveraged fund could be more fun, especially with OPM
Why are they so bad? For several years now, EVERY SINGLE YEAR. I am long during that time and I always lose money.
Hmm, no, the post I replied to, which you deleted, said that you make most of your money Jan to April, start losing in May and spend the rest of the year getting back to BE.. I replied that "Well, that is Q4 reporting for most companies". I was suggesting you look at that metric. Now you are reversing it and claiming that is your WORST period?
