It makes sense that a state is not as sensitive to cuts in the short run as the Feds.

its a curve somewhere along the curve more taxes can increase revenue and somewhere along the curve cutting taxes increases revenue. Since federal taxes are higher... tax cuts are more likely to result in revenue increases. Plus tax cuts don't seem to stop federal spending but states tend to try to balance their budget more so it takes a while for things to compensate or each other.

additionally reaction to state cuts are likely to take a longer time... as business and people can tax shop to some degree ahead of time. so those highly sensitive the cuts might have already moved to lower tax states.

do leftists ever think in systems here... besides ricter.

  2. I guess it depends on who you are trying to make more powerful. Higher taxes make the government more powerful. Lower taxes makes the private sector more powerful. The private sector could survive with no government. The goverment can't survive for long without the private sector.

No it could not, nor has it ever been tried, nor will it ever be tried.

I don't think its that. The problem is the idiotic way they go about doing things. This whole thing with putting this Christine Odonnel dame up for election to the Senate. She was a complete moron with no chance of winning, but they put her up and now they have a democrat in that Senate seat instead. The same with this dame who challenged Dingy Harry Reid. The republicans had a sure seat, but they lost it because the Tea Party wanted to nominate an idiot.

We can all be happy though. It looks like the stench of Sarah Palin has finally left and we don't have to listen to her moronic statements anymore. Maybe she can focus on ensuring no more of her daughters get knocked up.

Another asspipe I would love to see vanish is this Grover Dochequist. Let me get this straight, if I want to run as a republican, I have to go sign some pledge to an un-elected, douchebag troublemaker? Get lost and go to hell you dunce. I am really tired of these stupid people.

  8. Yes, except the vast majority of us are not billionaires trying to solve the worlds problem without giving up an inch of our lifesyles. Bill and Warren can opine all they want about how it should go, but they will never experience a weekend when ordering a pizza is just too expensive. When they give all their money to the government and live like I do maybe I will listen. Until then they are just rich elites telling poor people how they should live.
