Governor Bill Richardson, Democratic presidential candidate...

"Iowa, for good reason, for constitutional reasons, for reasons related to the Lord, should be the first caucus and primary."

It's pretty clear that one group has a bunch of flaming retards as their base (democrats) and the other has a few minor problems. Compare the many posts listed previously. The other side has brought their very best, working hard to expose the worst of the right. Meanwhile, I grab a post when I get a chance.

Who are the morons? Which party has people that you don't want your kids to see pictures of? Are you ready to admit to your grandchildren that you supported these . . . uh . . . people?

And isn't that awesome how I can link to my quote rather than making shit up out of thin air? The libtards must hate me like they hate electricity - it must be that bad.

Excerpts from conservative Pat Buchanan's Nov 2 column titled "Sinking Currency, Sinking Country". As usual Pat doesn't pull any punches.

"...The dollar has plummeted in value, more so in Bush's term than during any comparable period of U.S. history. Indeed, Bush is presiding over a worldwide abandonment of the American dollar... A sinking dollar means a poorer nation, and a sinking currency has historically been the mark of a sinking country. And a superpower with a sinking currency is a contradiction in terms.

"...The Chinese, whose currency is tied to the dollar, and Japan will continue, as long as they can, to keep their currencies low against the dollar. For the Asians think long term, and their goals are strategic... Asians understand that what is important is not who consumes the apples, but who owns the orchard.

"...Nor is there any end in sight to the sinking of the dollar. For, as foreigners demand more dollars for the oil and goods they sell us, the trade deficit will not fall. And as the U.S. government prints more and more dollars to cover the budget deficits that stretch out -- with the coming retirement of the baby boomers -- all the way to the horizon, the value of the dollar will fall. And as Ben Bernanke at the Fed tries to keep interest rates low, to keep the U.S. economy from sputtering out in the credit crunch, the value of the dollar will fall."

Common on Magna, Regarding economics you don't want to listen to Pat Buchanan. To me, this guy represent the dumbest part of the right-wing. Place where the right meets left. Dumb populism approached from different angles.

Contrary to that. People I respect (economics) say currency's exchange rate is bad indicator of country's economic well-being.
It doesn't mean I wouldn't prefer stronger USD.:)

"It certainly appears that the US and Japan are more than willing to debauch their own currencies rather than to take the drastic steps needed to curtail the problems that resulted in their weakness in the first place. Make no mistake about it – all great powers have strong currencies and the slide in both the Yen and the US Dollar are symptomatic of the decline in their economic influence in the global scheme of things."

First Karl Rove made the incredible claim on the Charlie Rose show that the Bush administration was opposed to having Congress vote on the Irag war resolution in the fall of 2002. Soonafter Joe Scarborough asked former Bush White House Chief of Staff Andrew Card:

"Karl Rove went on Charlie Rose and he blamed the Democrats for pushing him and the president into war. Is that how it worked?"

    To which Andrew Card replied:

"Uh... no... That is not the way it worked. Karl is very smart, sometimes his brain gets ahead of his mouth - and sometimes his mouth gets ahead of his brain."

Then the next day former Bush Press Secretary Ari Fleischer had this to say about Rove's insistence that Congress rushed the country to war in Iraq:

"It was definitely the Bush administration that set it in motion and determined the timing, not the Congress. I think Karl in this instance just has his facts wrong."

  7. I guess since every democratic presidential hopeful for the last 8 years has now lied about whether they wanted to go to war initially, Karl can too!
