Seeing Sweden has done very little testing except for people who show up at hospitals with symptoms -- there are no grounds this health minister, Dr Anders Tegnell, can stand on in his assertions about herd immunity. The scientific community will shortly point out how absurd his claims are --- in an environment where the number of deaths and cases are rising rapidly each day (much more than neighboring countries).... and whose COVID-19 stats are among the worse on the planet. I will also note the Swedish health minister, Dr Anders Tegnell, provided no models to back his assertions. He is merely mouthing the failed government's line of B.S. Of course the article outlines the Swedish Foreign Minister, Ann Linde, has stated "We do not have a strategy that aims at herd immunity at all." -- directly contradicting the claims of the health minister.
Canada has dealt with the virus far better then the US on every objective level including the level of panic. I know you are generally challenged to do basic math but Canada's death rate remains far lower then what is occurring in the US, despite the US continuing to have the most expensive health care on the planet. Spin it all you want it's as dumb as thinking Canada's all about maple syrup. No shortage of dumb content from you it's all you know.
I can just wait a few weeks and see the dismal results. At that time you and others will never mention Sweden again.
how do you know what data has been going into their models? WTF? This is like religion to your side and the mass media. How can you have so much faith in your model when it over estimated deaths and need for beds so dramatically. Surely you must understand either your side had no idea about how many people had been exposed and how immunity is building or the RO for healthy people was really over estimated or a some combination. Don't tell me you don't have a side you have been strongly posting in support of the media narrative and then some. And you really don't know what the results in Sweeden will be. Maybe they will be more correct than you think?
The current death rate in Canada is 4.44% (1509 deaths / 33,951 cases) with 40 deaths per 1M of population. The current death rate in the U.S is 5.3% (39,651 deaths / 742,459 cases) with 120 deaths per 1M of population. So yes, it appears that Canada is dealing with COVID-19 better than the U.S.
The problem is that they are UNABLE TO PROVIDE ANY MODELS to support the health minister's assertions.
And your side has not provided any useful stats to create a useful and trustworthy model either. As I said in the beginning it was all guesswork and bullshit if you don't know how many people have been exposed. To support this country wide ban there should have been hundreds of tests run around the country like the test fox news showed about Chelsea or the test the Stanford academic did in Santa Clara and the results it should have been shared. Would it have been so hard to go out and test a thousand random of people in different areas... each state and each city should have been running such tests and sharing the data... daily. I will tell you why the media was not/ is not currently demanding it from each Governor and each mayor of each decent sized city. Because we know that most likely the results will not support the narrative. Frankly its a complete fucking indictment of our press and our govts that we are not doing these studies right now. Trump needs to be smart enough to demand this too. By the way, this will be on Fox by the end of the week... Watch... and know who demanded it first
The raw figures from Sweden do not support the health minister's assertions. Unless he provides the "claimed" models supporting his herd immunity assertions then he is merely spouting propaganda from the government line trying to defend their failed and dangerous policy.
