Yeah who knows. But "the virus on the ship" or "on the supplies"... how long does this sh*t live on surfaces? I mean if they went to this extent to keep the crew safe, I would have to think that if not at least sterilized, the ship was empty for a bit. So that brings us to the supplies, which makes one wonder if we can get it from an AMZN delivery at our home.

COVID-19: Achieving herd immunity may occur sooner than previously thought
    https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/ar...nity-may-occur-sooner-than-previously-thought

When a sufficiently large proportion of a population becomes immune to an infection, it can no longer spread. A new modeling study suggests that the threshold for achieving herd immunity for COVID-19 is much lower than scientists had assumed.
Mathematicians at the University of Nottingham in the United Kingdom and Stockholm University in Sweden realized that different groups of people within a population spread infections at different rates.

When they updated the classical model to take into account rates of transmission in different age groups and among people with varying levels of social activity, the threshold for herd immunity fell to 43%

"There is little evidence linking the death toll in Sweden to the absence of lockdown."

This is why I keep demanding the lefties like bugen produce the data and the science.
They just pull bullshit out of the air and act superior...

Sweden’s death toll of 5,572, when compared relative to population size, far outstripped those of its Nordic neighbours, although it remains lower than in some European countries that locked down, such as Britain and Spain.

State epidemiologist Anders Tegnell of the health agency, who has devised Sweden’s response to the epidemic, has said there is little evidence linking the death toll to the absence of a lockdown, pointing instead to conditions at nursing homes, a decentralised health care system and travel patterns.

Separate studies by Sweden’s Karolinska Institutet (KI), an independent medical research institute, and the European Network of Ombudspersons for Children and Unicef, showed that Swedish children fared better than children in other countries during the pandemic, both in terms of education and mental health.

Uh-huh... or perhaps the first tests were wrong and they didn't wear masks because they thought they were safe. Just sayin' B1. I for one have NEVER rubbed my eyes, and tbh 100% honest I don't know about you, but I for one don't put my fingers in my mouth unless I suppose I'm eating some kind of finger food, before which I wash my hands. But I've always been a germ freak so whatever.
Btw... got my results back... negatory Rubber Duck.
    Keep on truckin.
    I mean Vapin'. :D

It's good to hear from the "let's at least fill up the hospitals first wing" of the Republican Party. There is certain charm to this line of reasoning, because if you're dead, you won't care.

If a herd is required, Republicans will be immune long before Democrats. I imagine you're pretty happy about that.

Let's call it community immunity so you can be the community organizer you always aspired to be.

This is not a political thing. It has to be driven by science and data.
Every country I researched who has gotten ahead of this virus with a shutdown... sealed their borders. We have not done that in the states. San Diego is being crushed at the border right now with people coming across with Covid.

This is the non political model... for beating Covid...

    1. You need to close the borders.
    2. You need to shutdown hard to a 97% level ala Fauci (not our 50% level) or you need to go for community immunity in the low risk group while you isolate the high risk. (ala Sweden (after the isolated old folks) or some of the Asian countries who did not shut down.
    3. You test and trace clusters... if you have enough tests you test and trace symptomatic people.
    4. We really should have a tracing apps on peoples phones if they choose to enter situations where there is a statistically significant chance of spread. (instead of randomly closing down businesses without the data produced to support it.) That way people who want their privacy and keep it and people who want to eat in a restaurant or get their hair done can as long as there are no clusters.

But that would require some kind of national coordination and therefore a different President. I think we are stuck with the Jackass we've got until next January, so expect more chaos.
