Well let me say I hope the best for you family and mother. It is difficult for families to be separated at this time; it is especially difficult for the family members in the nursing homes.

We have families locally dealing with the same situation. They try to talk regularly on the phone. They are trying to use zoom, facetime, etc. with help from staff in the homes who know how to use these applications.

Hopefully things improve sooner rather than later.

Are all old folks in homes Jem? Just start there and you will see. What everyone else did was belt and braces, lock down the homes, lock down outside interaction of the staff/guests/suppliers who were the ones bringing it in. Sure there were some cases present but there were also staff with no PPE.

The less wild spread you have, the less chance the staff/suppliers bring it in. Staff do drills, learn (slowly, takes time for form habits) management identify and remove the utterly hopeless (there always are), PPE is perfected, etc etc.

Many died in Sweden because of a culture of not transferring elderly to hospital and putting them on palliative care when they had a fair chance with intensive. Learning not to do that took time.

Now, what about everyone else? Not in homes but dying at home and of course the much of the younger pop with some pre-existing.

Stop for a moment and outline how with people moving and a virus hitting 100k a day and more new cases real fast you could have protected them.

Serious, if you are the brain you believe you are that should be easy.

talk about black holes....you keep trying to blame Sweden for the deaths of old people early on... they accepted the blame and agree.

I keep asking you why Sweden has very few deaths with no shutdown

    vs

California one of the great fast shutdowns --- now falling apart after just recently opening for riots, restaurants and the beach.

Shutdown since mid March... and now open for a few weeks and its a disaster.
What good did your beloved shutdown do if we are now exploding with virus and daily deaths are rising?

Your whole castle of is built on sand. You will never say how the Sweden strategy could have been achieved in the US then because its impossible without very massive death and chaos.

What was possible is what happened and as imperfect is was, it saved actual apocalyptic death levels and trauma. Far better were the other Nórdics.

You are typical of someone with particularly asymmetric intelligence. You are OK in some areas, learning deficient level in others. I have something similar but I was educated to recognise when I don't really know something and get someone who does to do it.

My dad designed power stations and such, being wrong in commercial engineering has little leeway for forgiveness with a foundational flaw. You said before your father was a lawyer. I'm sure he could make black white when he needed to but its not the skillet for a problem like this. Virus does not care. Of course we made our own lives but our outlook on problems is shaped at an early age.

Unlike most traders here I used my fair judgement of managing people to hire a couple of really good staff. Together we made over 30 million dollars in five years. Alone I would have burned a lot of cash to achieve mediocre success.

Your cognitive asymmetry blinds you. Jem the gifted who struggles with so much, even just writing.

You are hopelessly off track on this Sweden stuff. Plenty to learn from Sweden though, stuff to inform the countries who had a longer lockdown.

I am not saying I know this would have worked in the U.S.
    (no one knows for sure)

Sweden has improved to zero excess deaths and they were not locked down.

CA and the US just reopened and are going in the wrong direction....

    "Nya intensivvårdade fall per dag"

trending down to 2 to 3 per day lately .

    California is a mess...

We damn well know for sure it would have been a mahoosive cluster fuck.

Mind you we don't know for sure if we chucked you off a balcony you would not spontaneously learn to fly... Just a suggestion, strikes me you might miss being so slippery..

Oh Cali this oh whatever the fuck cherry pick that. Picking your winners and losers during the race. There is no way Sweden will come close to parity of deaths per capita with the other Nórdics barring a massive fuckup or total failure to develop vaccines and improved therapeutic drugs etc.

Jem seems to be absurdly claiming a victory as large chunks of his country get a huge spike in infection rates, followed by not so good looking death rates. I'm not sure what the point is it's like he wants the whole country to get infected and many thousands more die.

"Case closed" lol. Enjoy the after party drinks.

You are the sick SOB wishing Covid on people.
And now you are lying about my celebrating.
    I am not celebrating anything.

We just destroyed lives and businesses for no damn good reason.
That is nothing to celebrate. You fuckers were supporting stupid govt policy.

We should have spent the last 2- 3 months going through what we are now going through.

The case is closed on thinking the shutdown we had would make the virus go away.
    It did not... case closed.

Your silly claim that partially closing down was the plan to make it go away.

    Straw man.

It was the plan to make it somewhat more manageable.

    You can’t because Sweden.
You can just follow your leftist non-scientific cult down the merry path wearing your stupid masks telling the world to #Stayhome!

    #GetFucked is what I say.
