Virtually Science and data fear monger opinion bullshit... from geBe-fear mongering. here we see Sweden has done as well as many other EU countries. Especially if you understand that a massive amount of deaths happened in the beginning as like NY NY CT France Italy and Beligium the had an early outbreak in nursing homes before anybody was really able to formulate policy. https://ourworldindata.org/coronavi...othing=7&pickerMetric=location&pickerSort=asc
Sweden’s state epidemiologist Anders Tegnell did state something very interesting in those email correspondence with other health officials that's now available to the public... He stated that Sweden could not implement the health policies as South Korea and Vietnam whom are outperforming Sweden. That's an interesting considering South Korea also did not lockdown and Vietnam did lockdown. It's interesting considering both protected their elderly, ethnic communities and migrant workers. Surely, Tegnell was not suggesting that if they used the same health policy as any of those two countries... The elderly, ethnic communities and migrant workers would be protected ??? With that said, lets take a look at the three countries Covid infection performances from start to yesterday. Also, I'm curious why Tegnell did not mention the other countries, in his email correspondences, that were outperforming Sweden such as New Zealand, Japan and Taiwan...since Day 1 to today...most likely will continue outperforming Sweden ??? On another concerning note...Denmark, Norway and Finland have been showing increasing Covid numbers recently been increasing. It would explain, as stated before in a prior recent message...Sweden closed its borders to Norway including putting military troops at their border. Simply, Sweden is doing what it takes including closing its borders when needed, new restrictions and approving a Pandemic (Lockdown) Law if needed no matter how mad their citizens become about the recent changes. wrbtrader
Nobody in their right mind thinks you should compare an open country with open borders to countries which shut their borders to travelers and countries which were Islands. Why would you compare Sweden to Taiwan or Japan? Sure its fun... but are going to learn anything. The first thing you might learn is to lock borders and keep foreigners out. its amazing what lengths and lies lefties will employ to stop you from questioning the ethics and the efficacy of allowing govt officials to shut down businesses, schools and the lives to the low risk. I don't understand how people can be such drones and say... thank you moron leaders take a year of our lives away... destroy my neighbors business, screw our kids out some of their formative years and their social interaction... Its like the Soviet Union leaders were correct... many people just to be told how to live by other people.
Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel of Sweden Test Positive for COVID-19 The King of Sweden previously spoke out against the country's handling of the coronavirus pandemic in a rare rebuff By Stephanie Petit March 11, 2021 01:13 PM Crown Princess Victoria and Crown Prince Daniel of Sweden are isolating after testing positive for COVID-19. The Royal Court of Sweden announced on Facebook Thursday that the couple began isolating at home with their two children — Princess Estelle, 9, and Prince Oscar, 5 — after Victoria began experiencing cold symptoms the previous day. Princess Victoria, 43, and Prince Daniel, 47, "are showing slight symptoms, but feeling well according to circumstances," the statement said. Celebrations of Princess Victoria's name day scheduled for Friday have been canceled. The King of Sweden spoke out against the country's handling of the coronavirus pandemic in a rare rebuff. "I think we have failed," King Carl XVI Gustaf, 74, said in his Christmas broadcast. "A large number have died, and that is terrible." Unlike many European countries, Sweden has avoided a full lockdown amid the pandemic, instead relying on voluntary guidelines. "The people of Sweden have suffered tremendously in difficult conditions," the Swedish monarch said. "One thinks of all the family members who have happened to be unable to say goodbye to their deceased family members. I think it is a tough and traumatic experience not to be able to say a warm goodbye." https://people.com/royals/princess-victoria-prince-daniel-sweden-test-positive-covid-19/ ------- The Princess and Prince are young adults...they'll be OK. More importantly, hopefully they didn't expose their elderly father the King to Covid. wrbtrader
Previously in this thread someone mentioned the disparities of COVID deaths for immigrants in Sweden. There is now a study on this... Disparities in COVID-19 deaths by country of birth in Stockholm, Sweden: A total population based cohort study https://www.docwirenews.com/abstrac...eden-a-total-population-based-cohort-study-9/
Yeah... I mentioned it. The articles I read... indicated... There is a group of immigrants slammed by Covid in Sweden. They died at younger ages than normal. some of the potential reasons given were: They lived in tight quarters and they probably had a serious lack of Vitamin D because their cultural dress and their skin color. (darker skin requiring more time in the sun) In other words... while Covid normally seems to target the old and those with multiple Co-morbidities... these immigrants in these groups died at lower ages and sometimes is not most times with no co morbidities... This is highly unusual so the question was why? To me it the message is clear and came in months ago from other studies. Very high percentages of Death from Covid is associated with Vitamin D deficiency. (The studies I read said percentage is in the very high nineties) ... You want to live... get sufficient natural Vitamin D. Many of us were saying that 11 months ago. ---
Sweden was the model. (not my quote... but I like it.) Which is why it received so much hate from the establishment media and lefties. 26 covid deaths since Friday in Sweden... no wonder gwBe-lying is no longer reporting the reuter's stuff to us... so I will do it for him... see below. (their cases are also trending down on the official cite... which is the accurate data. Sweden's death's per day are about as low as in gets as you can see on my list of countries... 2nd link below. https://www.reuters.com/article/us-...19-cases-26-deaths-since-friday-idUSKBN2B81V3 https://ourworldindata.org/explorer...e&country=SWE~DEU~ESP~BEL~CAN~FRA~GRC~GBR~USA
Why don't you compare deaths in Sweden to its direct neighbors Finland and Norway. Go create a chart with that and tell us the results. While you are at it -- be sure to add your vision of a no-lockdown paradise, Brazil, to the comparison list.
Because every country is different and they did different things. It's neighbors shut the border early... which is something I always said was important... but the left was against last year. so... I chose some major countries and other countries which got hit hard early like Sweden before they had a chance to really implement Covid policy. Notice I keep your preferred model country, Germany on there.
Sweden King, Sweden monarchy, Sweden Health Officials, Independent Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies, Tegnell himself typically compare themselves to their neighboring border countries in reference to their Covid responses / performances. It would be ridiculous to not compare the metrics of the Scandinavian countries / Nordic countries with each other. Another appropriate comparison is to compare Sweden versus other countries that did not lockdown because Sweden bared the weight of negative opinions about their "lockdown lite" policy while few mentioned the other countries that also did not lockdown... The above I believe was unfair because there were very little criticism thrown at those other "no lockdown" countries. Yet, those other "no lockdown" countries did not try to achieve Natural Herd Immunity. The latter was the theme behind most of the criticism about Sweden's healthcare policy. A more difficult comparison is to compare Sweden with other countries that has the same healthcare policy, higher level of trust for its government, higher standard of living but I've seen comparisons via such too. Early in the Pandemic, the most common comparison I saw online and here at Elitetrader.com was Sweden to its border countries or too Europe. I myself have consistently stuck with comparing Sweden to the countries that Sweden Health Officials compare itself too or to countries that have a large population of migrant workers not from North / South America. The other Sweden thread...those that argue in defense of Sweden...they were mainly comparing Sweden to U.K., Spain and Italy and oddly wouldn't look at the other Scandinavian countries. Simply, those that ignore Sweden's border Scandinavian countries are intentionally trying to create misinformation, myths and tall tales about Sweden's Covid performance that fits a make believe health care policy that they wished their country had impossibly switched too within a few days of the Pandemic. P.S. The Sweden family I've been in recent email communication...they constantly write about what's occurring in other Scandinavian countries or New Zealand because one of them has parents living in New Zealand. Also, they employ migrant workers that cross the border from their neighboring countries (e.g. Norway). wrbtrader
