Ah, so now its all about the temperature, season, etc...so are you suggesting mask mandates don't work in winter? Or some other season?
But there is doubt. That's the point. You may not like the charts, but you can't disprove them. All you can do is hypothesize. That's why you get so defensive and crazy and irrational when you are in discussions.
There is example after example of reality -- showing the impact in the weeks following a mask mandate. COVID-19 cases in Arizona dropped 75% after mask mandates began, report says https://www.azcentral.com/story/new...opped-75-following-local-mask-man/5911813002/ COVID-19 cases in Arizona spiked 151% after a statewide stay-at-home order expired and dropped 75% following local mask mandates, a new report says. The report, published this week by the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, was authored by officials with the Arizona Department of Health Services, including director Dr. Cara Christ. A stay-at-home order in Arizona expired May 15 and two weeks later — between June 1 and June 15 — the daily average number of COVID-19 cases jumped by 151%, the report says. The incubation period for a person exposed to the SARS-CoV-2 virus to develop COVID-19 is approximately two days to two weeks. The spike in cases ended up overwhelming the state's health care system with a surge of extremely ill COVID-19 patients needing care. On June 6, as COVID-19 hospitalizations in Arizona climbed, Christ sent a letter to hospitals in the state urging them to "fully activate" their emergency plans. The number of COVID-19 cases in Arizona peaked between June 29 and July 2, stabilized between July 3 and July 12, and declined by approximately 75% between July 13 and August 7, the report says. "Mitigation measures, including mask mandates, that are implemented and enforced statewide appear to have been effective in decreasing the spread of COVID-19 in Arizona," the report says. Sweden readies new measures as COVID-19 cases accelerate https://news.yahoo.com/sweden-readies-measures-covid-19-150344280.html Sweden is preparing new measures to try to curb a resurgence in COVID-19 cases as the coronavirus strain first detected in Britain spreads rapidly, the architect of Sweden's pandemic strategy said on Tuesday. Sweden has avoided lockdowns throughout the pandemic. But health statistics agency figures on Tuesday showed 10,933 new coronavirus cases had been registered since Friday, a rise from 9,458 in the corresponding period the previous week. "The British variant is increasing very fast," Chief Epidemiologist Anders Tegnell told a news conference. "This variant will with fairly high probability be the dominant one within a few weeks or a month." "We have a package (of national measures) being readied that will be presented tomorrow," he said, giving no details. The British coronavirus variant is thought by scientists to be a more infectious strain. Cases of the South African and Brazilian strains have also been detected but are not spreading quickly, Tegnell said. Concerns about a possible third wave of the pandemic have been growing in Sweden in recent weeks as the number of new infections rose and the new variants spread. The centre-left government has laid the ground for potential lockdown measures to an extent not seen earlier during the pandemic. Several of Sweden's largest regions, including Stockholm on Tuesday, have also taken steps, such as recommending the use of masks in shops, workplaces and public transport. This is at odds with the health agency's past reluctance to broadly endorse such moves because of limited evidence of their efficacy. Sweden, a country of 10 million people, has registered 12,713 deaths from COVID-19. The death rate per capita is much higher than its Nordic neighbours' but lower than in several countries in Europe that opted for lockdowns.
I agree 100% that there are examples where it appears mask mandates DID work. But there are also examples where it did not. So it could be that the mask mandate wasn't the deciding factor, or even a factor of consideration. Or it could be other factors that led to a spread despite the mandate. But you stating it as fact and "science" and then using a news article to support your case doesn't mean shit. Its not decided, unless you can explain without argument or dissent why one state worked and another didn't. I'm going to do the same chart for Arizona based on the same COVID tracking project and see what it shows. Because your article is outdated.
Do mask mandates work? Here's what new CDC research reveals. February 10, 2021 https://www.advisory.com/daily-briefing/2021/02/10/masks
Arizona: First, it does not appear that Arizona ever had a state wide mandate. Happy to be wrong if you show me they did. It seems they took the path of Florida and had local mandates (but oddly enough, you never went off on their governor like you did on DeSantis over this). See the arrow? That's when your article was published, declaring mask mandates a success. Doesn't look like it was a success later on, unless you can show the mandates expired.
Is this the same CDC that was mentioned here or a different one: Though health officials have warned Americans to prepare for the spread of the novel coronavirus in the U.S., people shouldn’t wear face masks to prevent the spread of the infectious illness, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the U.S. surgeon general.
And where is your quote from.... provide the link to the CDC location of it --- so we can see the complete context. (BTW -- the early statements in March of 2020 were about N95 masks which should be used by medical professionals.)
