Still improving.... Deaths per day even lower still. Still even outperforming Germany - gwBe-lying's model covid response country. (see link below to his preferred data. ) Why would a douchebag keep posting negative crap about a country which is out performing his model country. Why would the media be creating these articles too? https://ourworldindata.org/coronavi...othing=7&pickerMetric=location&pickerSort=asc
One of you 2 Assholes(you or GWB) needs to go to Sweden and report back. This is teetering on insanity.
Stockholm coronavirus cases rise by nearly 25 percent in one week Between the first and second week of February, the number of confirmed cases of coronavirus rose by 24.1 percent in the Stockholm Region, healthcare director Björn Eriksson said on Wednesday. https://www.thelocal.se/20210218/stockholm-coronavirus-cases-rise-by-nearly-25-percent-in-one-week "This is very worrying and could be a sign that we are entering a third wave [...] We are getting signals that residents are no longer following the Public Health Agency's recommendations to the same extent," Eriksson warned, emphasising the importance of avoiding new social contacts (meeting people who do not belong to your household or close circle) and avoiding non-necessary travel. He added that these recommendations will continue to apply during the winter sports break or sportlov, which in Stockholm takes place in this week March 1st-7th. "If you have to travel, it has to be done in an infection-safe way," said Eriksson. Public health advice is to use private means of travel if possible, and if possible avoid public transport during rush hour and use alternatives where it is possible to book a seat. For long distance journeys, Sweden's bus and train companies have been told to only book services at 50 percent of total capacity. As of Wednesday, there were 266 Covid-19 patients in need of hospital care in the Stockholm region, including 39 in intensive care units. The age group seeing the biggest rise in cases is adults of working age or 18-49. "I would like to see everyone in the media, everyone who has had Covid-19 or who works in healthcare to keep reminding everyone else about what a terrible disease this is," said Eriksson, who noted that even if younger adults are less likely to experience severe illness from Covid-19, a high level of infection among this demographic increases the risk of exposure among more vulnerable groups. Meanwhile, the vaccine programme has been forced to adapt in the capital region after a 77.5 percent decrease in the expected vaccine deliveries for February. "When there is such a significant change, it is very difficult to plan for vaccinations," the region's vaccine coordinator Magnus Thyberg said at the briefing. He said Stockholm still had the goal of vaccinating all residents over 18, as well as under-18s who belong to a risk group, in the first six months of the year, but that this was dependent on receiving the promised deliveries. Stockholm currently plans to offer the vaccine to phase 2 (which includes over-65s and healthcare workers) from mid-March; to phase 3 (including people who belong to a risk group or would have difficulty following the national recommendations, as well as people over 60) from April, and to the rest of the population from April or May.
Who the hell are you? Lately, I spend a minute posting a link to the stats.... He is the asshole posting article after article of propaganda.
I don't know if you remember the earlier charts I posted in this thread that showed as each month passed by... The age group with the increases in cases involving adults had been declining. It has been an issue or concern involving the 2nd wave or some places now calling it the 3rd wave. If I can remember the details of the chart statistics...the top age number with the largest rise in infection cases / hospitalizations had dropped from 65 years old to 53.3 years old. The statistics shown were for Sweden, France, Canada, United States. Now your article out of Sweden states its dropped further to 49 years old as the top of the age group with the largest cases. What does that imply ? The elderly are being better protected and younger adults are being less careful. That's how I look at it and confirmed by my brother (a doctor in South Dakota), other family members in Arizona and Illinois working in the medical field and girlfriend (ICU nurse) here in Québec... They have more younger adults being hospitalized and less elderly being hospitalized. wrbtrader
When your failed COVID "herd immunity" policy killed thousands and inflicted misery across your nation -- you better be ready to get a little hate mail. Population desires to imprison and/or execute the responsible public officials. Swedish officials report 'escalated' threats and hate in coronavirus debate https://www.thelocal.se/20210219/sw...alated-threats-and-hate-in-coronavirus-debate Swedish researchers say threats and hate messages have escalated during the pandemic, and several of the Public Health Agency's public figures are now in need of police protection. It has gone so far that we have death threats being investigated by the police, Johan Carlson, the director-general of the Public Health Agency, told Swedish news agency TT in a recent interview. "You are ready for 40 years of prison or a lifetime sentence," starts one email sent to state epidemiologist Anders Tegnell. The sender wants to see Tegnell punished and ends the message with "preferably through execution by a firing squad, broadcast live on SVT". This is just one of several hate mails sent to the Public Health Agency, which says it has been bombarded with emails, phone calls and social media posts since the start of the pandemic. TT reports that they mainly receive questions and opinions, but also receive hate messages, threats and personal attacks. The Public Health Agency estimates that from January 24th, 2020, state epidemiologist Anders Tegnell has received around 50,000 external emails. Out of the emails received in December, TT reports that around 80 of them were some form of hate mail, with demands for his resignation, accusations of incompetence, and personal attacks. Tegnell, Karin Tegmark Wisell (the head of the Public Health Agency's microbiology division), and other staff who often speak at press conferences and in interviews, are the worst hit by these threats. Sometimes the threats are directed towards their family members, but the senders are often anonymous and therefore difficult to investigate. Johan Carlson said he is especially worried that the tone between scientists, and the public debate in general, has hardened; that there's less discussion and arguments about the issues at hand, and more harassment. He believes an increasingly aggressive tone encourages the anonymous hate mails and threats. "People read it, and then there are new attacks. It just goes downwards. The tone fuels these forces," Carlson said. "It started as early as last spring and then, like now, a lot of it is aimed towards our spokespeople. But it has escalated and we notice this on a daily basis," Carlson told TT on Thursday. "We have staff who have police protection. And it is not improving, only getting worse." He declined to say what the police protection consists of, to protect the security of individual staff members. He also did not want to discuss in detail what steps the authority has taken, simply stating that the most serious threats are always reported to the police, and that they are in continuous contact with the police. Security guards have also been posted at the Public Health Agency office.

This quote from your lin is concise accurate and close to perfect. "History will thus record lockdowns as the product of pseudoscientific ideology, manifestations of an unprecedented mass hysteria and drummed-up fear, and reminders that we must always defend vital freedoms against panicking and power-drunk politicians."
At this point most of the world and the government of Sweden have recognized the only proper way to address COVID prior mass vaccination is restrictions and lockdowns. Bto hthe Prime Minister and King of Sweden have stated their previous no-lockdown policy have been a complete failure. There is a growing chorus of people in Sweden now demanding the arrest and trials for the health officials who pushed the failed strategy. Why Sweden is set to change its COVID-19 controls https://newseu.cgtn.com/news/2021-0...e-its-COVID-19-controls-Y2V4ppP4k0/index.html Sweden is preparing to bring in new measures to control the virus, as case numbers climb again. At the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Sweden's government took an alternative route to battle the virus. Instead of lockdown, closing schools and social spaces, they relied on citizens' common sense and willingness to follow social distancing rules. Sweden's death rate from COVID-19 is now higher than its closest neighbors, although its case rate remains similar to other European countries. On Wednesday the Stockholm area health director Bjorn Eriksson said COVID-19 cases rose 24 percent between the first and second week of February. The biggest rise was seen in the working population, aged between 18 and 49. Meanwhile, vaccine deliveries were 77 percent lower than expected at the start of the month. Closed borders Sweden has taken several new measures recently. In response to a new strain of the virus first identified in the UK, it closed its borders with Norway and Denmark. The King then asked Swedes to wear face masks in public for the first time, such as on public transport – although unlike in many other European countries, people are not generally legally required to wear them. This week, Sweden's Social Minister Lena Hallangren warned of an approaching "third wave" of the coronavirus, and the government proposed new measures which would shut down much of the economy for the first time. The list of businesses which face mandatory closure are recognizable a year into the pandemic: shops, hairdressers, gyms, and restaurants are top of the list. Anyone breaking the rules – if they are implemented – could be fined $240. The new measures have not yet been put into force, but the powers to do so are now there, and Prime Minister Stefan Lofven warned that travel restrictions may soon be ordered, too. So far, bus and train operators have been asked to only sell 50 percent capacity on long-distance journeys.
It’s amazing that GWB uses the King and PM of Sweden as some sort of barometer for the success or failure of their strategy. All that matters are the stats and facts and evidence. Lockdowns and masks clearly made no difference with respect to real deaths, year over year. Bravo Sweden.
