Sweden's deaths per million are 10X its direct neighbors that have similar climate, culture, housing, and population density. Sweden's "no lockdown" policy has been a disaster. Both the Prime Minister and King stated the policy was a complete failure before they enacted countrywide restrictions.
Other countries (consistently mentioned in this thread): No Lockdowns Face Mask Wearing...a few have been doing such for a few decades due to air pollution problems Excellent Contact Tracing Social Distancing Greatly outperformed Sweden since day 1 and continues to do so today. Sweden's government and health officials stated multiple times late 2020 that their Pandemic policy failed their ethnic communities and that the overall strategy of natural herd immunity had failed. Current restrictions are working very well...declining numbers in Sweden. Simply, restrictions work although there's low compliance in some areas of the country. wrbtrader
Cases / Deaths per million ( from a few days ago ) : Canada 21.8K, 562 Sweden 60K, 1226 US 85K, 1498 So why do we still have some Americans on here trying to lecture Canadians on how well Sweden handled Covid ? The lunatic fringe stays busy it seems.
Sweden eyes tighter Covid measures as third wave looms Government proposal would close shopping centres, gyms and restaurants for the first time https://www.ft.com/content/ccb52f41-72f1-4883-861d-f59745e25e7d Sweden has warned that it might have to close businesses and shut down parts of society as unease grows in Stockholm at the possibility of a third wave of the Covid-19 pandemic. The centre-left government on Wednesday put forward a proposal that for the first time would allow it to close shopping centres, gyms, and restaurants and to fine those who fail to obey the rules SKr2,000 ($240). “There is a significant risk of a third wave of infection . . . It can be necessary to shut down parts of Sweden,” said social minister Lena Hallengren. The country, which stood out internationally because of its refusal to introduce a lockdown, has since December brought in more and more restrictions. Coronavirus cases per capita have ticked up again in recent days, following repeated warnings from health authorities that a third wave was likely. The number of cases and deaths per capita remain far above the highest levels recorded in neighbouring Norway and Finland, but its excess mortality from Covid-19 is below several European countries that had formal lockdowns. Infections are increasing in six of Sweden’s 18 regions with a particularly sharp rise linked to the construction of a large electric battery factory in the north of the country for Northvolt, a start-up backed by Volkswagen, Goldman Sachs and Ikea. The proposal on potential closures is out for consultation until February 26, and the government has declined to say precisely what would trigger its introduction. (More at above url)
Please explain how "similar culture" should be considered when comparing countries? What is so drastically different from Sweden that we can't compare it to, say, Belgium?
Sweden paves the way to full lockdown for the first time in ramping up of Covid-19 powers https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/20...-lockdown-first-time-ramping-covid-19-powers/
Wow wow wow...who would have thought. Lets now see if they will push that red button or use more restrictions against those not in compliant with the current restrictions. wrbtrader
Deaths still going lower in Sweden and leading gwBe-lying's model country down. Why does he keep posting this negative shit/ propaganda day after day? Only an asshole... would keep posting negative shit about a country which is matching if not outperforming his model model country. Here is rock solid proof using the asshole's preferred data. https://ourworldindata.org/coronavi...othing=7&pickerMetric=location&pickerSort=asc\
