Reading the news at the above link...the below quote stands out to me.

    • How do governments and health officials determine a number 8, 10, 20 or whatever for max in social gathering situation ???
Yet, they've been urging face masks wearing for about 2 - 3 weeks (I think) without any mandates for such. Yet, I can not find any recent photographs out of Sweden with many people in the photographs wearing a face mask...just a few individuals in each image that are wearing a face mask.

Then again, I haven't been looking that hard because its nice to see Sweden finally taking Covid-19 very serious to protect their citizens without needing to shut down the entire economy.
    • Hopefully this is as bad as it will get for Sweden until about 60% - 70% of their population is vaccinated for vaccinated herd immunity.
I'm a big fan of targeted restrictions and not a fan of shutting down the entire economy.

    1. First of all this new variant changes thoughts about herd immunity.

Just keeping track of the data... even though we know they are not reporting as regularly because of the holidays. This is so I still have the link in the new year without having to go so far back.

The measure for Sweden always was as simple as where do deaths per million wind up in comparison to Finland and Norway before a vaccine. Sweden 820, Norway 79, Finland 99, so around 10X. I was prepared to accept that the strategy may not have been a cluster if their neighbors caught up before a vaccine could take effect. After all no strategy can STOP it from spreading, but it can SLOW the spread. With the vaccine now being distributed, there is no chance Norway/Finland catch up to that death rate. Cluster of a strategy confirmed. To argue otherwise is disingenuous.

And Sweden never reported over a hundred deaths "everyday" that moron gwBe-lying was claiming.

you see there is neither 100 deaths per day during the second wave on Sweden's official data or john's hopkins data at worldindata.

    gwBe-lying is and inveterate liar...
he has no understanding of batched data vs day by day data...
So he just lies his ass off...

We know he is lying his ass off... for the simple reason no day shows 100 deaths per day... using Sweden's official data. And we do not see it in the 7 day rolling average of John's Hopkins data.

Once again you are spouting nonsense. I provided multiple articles with the daily reported deaths from Sweden, links to the government website with the daily reports, and also explained how the daily reports are allocate to date of death & why this takes so long for Sweden. As well as information on the reporting days and cycles in Sweden.

Yet you persist in posting nonsense and calling people providing the facts names. All in an attempt to drive your disastrous no lock down political agenda -- of course Sweden has demonstrated that "natural herd immunity" for COVID does not exist and those pushing it merely drive a public health disaster.

    moron...
show us multiple days in a row of 100 deaths per say in Sweden during this second wave..
go ahead moron... shows us that did not get confused by batched data... as you have multiple times... and show us a few days of 100 deaths in Sweden during this second wave...

You are so dumb... so stupid and such a liar.

That is all you have to... do...
But... I am 100 percent sure you cant to do it... because you lied.

look moron... on no day were there even 100 deaths... yet alone... multiple days of it.

and you do not see it on the worldindata johns hopkins data because you lied.

What you saw was one day of batched data... and you did not know what you were seeing.

Still pushing your "natural herd immunity" nonsense while misrepresenting data in an absurd attempt to push your no lockdown agenda I see. Even the Prime Minister of Sweden stated their COVID strategy completely failed -- at this point you need to recognize the fantasies that you been pushing only lead to disaster.

At this point it is not worth replying to your nonsense anymore. Any reasonable person can go back and read the posts and make up their own mind about the COVID deaths in Sweden.

As for the news today from Sweden...

Sweden recommends masks for rush hour, as COVID-19 deaths hit record
    https://www.reuters.com/article/us-...r-as-covid-19-deaths-hit-record-idUSKBN2941KX

Sweden on Wednesday took steps to increase measures against the novel coronavirus, recommending commuters wear masks on public transport during rush hour as the country announced a record death toll from COVID-19.

The updated guidance on face masks in a country that has been reluctant to impose changes of behaviour in response to the pandemic, comes a day after the national health agency recommended wider use of masks by healthcare workers.

On Wednesday, Sweden said it had registered 8,846 new coronavirus cases and 243 deaths,
the highest in Sweden since the pandemic began, although the health agency said statistics over the Christmas period are skewed by less testing and delays in reporting deaths.
