Viruses virus. Lockdowns don’t work. Let us know when this Bubonic Plague is over, would ya? When it’s done killing 0.025% of the world please advise. The other 99.975% of us will still be here. And so will covid. And so will 200+ other niggling respiratory viruses.
    LOCKING DOWN
    HEALTHY POPULATIONS
    FOR A VIRUS WITH A 99.9% SURVIVABILITY
    IS WHAT IDIOTS DO

So Sweden had months to prepare for this situation. They not only failed to order ICU equipment, they failed to order COVID tests or set up labs to process COVID tests. All because the government believed that the virus should spread widely and provide "natural herd immunity".

Sweden's lack of preparation is reflective of their completely failed and idiotic COVID strategy.

Thank god we didn't follow Sweden's model in Ontario. A "massively terrible result" that you've been campaigning for all year. In fact, we're weathering the second wave much better then Sweden or San Diego County.

I sense these more smaller, more enclosed countries will either be doing really well containing Covid or be absolutely smashed by it short term if Covid gets an ankle hold in the country. Another aspect is the article you posted about San Diego County mentioned public "complacency" as a reason Covid hit them so hard recently. You can see that complacency in Jem, the trips to the beach, the fact they were still playing soccer even during the summer outbreaks.

    Maybe so...
But what does that have to do with them having no mask no lockdown strategy?
    Absofuckinglutely nothing.

The government of Sweden has stated recently that their strategy has completely failed and is imposing restrictions. This is well documented in recent posts in this thread.

Oh yeah - Ontario and Toronto are just CRUSHING IT..

But did you see this report from my friend in Stockholm?

"The bodies are piling up in front of my apartment.
My son's teacher began convulsing and vomiting bile, then she dropped dead right in the middle of an important social justice lesson.
It's no surprise - she just got vaccinated.

The kids were also vaccinated by force, taken from us in the middle of the night.
They are handling it alright - just a mild flu and occasional bleeding from the eyes and anus.
Otherwise, they were perfectly healthy before.
I can't say the same for my neighbor.
She just lost her parents, her husband, her 5 kids, including one in the womb, and her dog & cat, and her Uncle and Aunt, all this weekend.
    To COVID.
If they had only not left their apartments.

COVID is deadlier in Sweden anywhere else.
We assume it's because the virus was designed for blondes.
In a normal year, we may see around 90,000 deaths.
This year - brace yourself - we can expect to see 92,000 deaths.
The same number we saw in 2018.
I assume it's because we didn't wear masks.

I hope we can make it through the year.
    I still can't get my hands on a PS5."

So what did the countries that locked down that have a worse death rate than Sweden have to say for themselves? Lockdown, mandatory masks, and yet MORE death?
    IT
    IS
    NOT
    POSSIBLE

New Zealand, Japan, Taiwan and South Korea did not lockdown.

They are all outperforming Sweden in Covid-19 infections, hospitalizations and deaths mainly because three of them have a culture that has a large percentage of their population wearing face masks, healthcare system suitable for fighting infectious diseases, excellent contact tracing and excellent testing.

Forgot to mention something else just as important...they weren't stupid enough to experiment on their citizens with herd immunity prior to a vaccine discovery. :D
