Economists at Swedish bank SEB estimate Sweden’s GDP will drop 6.5 per cent this year, about the same as the US and Germany. So no benefit whatsover from Sweden's no lockdown strategy. Only more deaths and the same economic downside.

Sweden unlikely to feel economic benefit of no-lockdown approach
Analysts forecast that growth will contract at similar rate to rest of Europe

Talk to us in the fall when there is a chance Sweden is close to herd immunity and Gavin Newsome and the blue states are presiding over the biggest economic collapse in history.

or, we open and suffer the infections we should have already cleared.

    Regarding GDP...
Economic forecasts are bullshit right now.
These guys models have the same ability to see into this future as Fauci's.

As noted in the above articles the number of antibody tests showing COVID-19 exposure in Sweden is under 10% in urban areas and under 2% across the country as more testing has been done. Nowhere near herd immunity levels as outlined by WHO. Ignoring that "herd immunity" applies to vaccination not getting people sick from a disease.

Sweden's economy has gone down just as bad as the U.S. and EU.

So Sweden did a two-fer -- they both killed their economy and they killed more people per capita than most western countries including the U.S. On the projected death rate path Sweden will be number 1 in per capita deaths by August.

Agro economies are doing OK as they never shut those sectors down, Sweden never could have benefitted.

It seems to be clear now with the multiple strains, there will be little to no heard immunity. Next autumn they will likely be hit by a different strain.

so Sweden has not been locked down.
we have been locked down and hiding...
and you are impressed by the fact Sweden's death rate just passed the U.S.
And we know part of the problem was that early on... it killed a lot of people in old folks homes.

    You have Covid Derangement Syndrome.

    2. If any economy only drops 6.5% in GDP that will be a massive victory.
If you think the other countries GDP are only going to suffer a 6.5% drop you are out of your mind... unless they have something going on we don't know about. Its no wonder you believed Fauci models and friend's advice.

Seriously you are claiming some sort of vindication based on something that has not happened and will most likely never happen.

Yet still can't tell us that locking down low risk groups save more harm than it does.

The point is that Sweden's COVID-19 strategy did not work and other countries should not copy it.

Despite fans like you claiming Sweden is a "great" COVID-19 response example. It is not.

    What the heck?
    Did not work?

We won't know that until this is all over.
Vaccine, herd immunity or no more cases balanced against economic recovery over deaths and medical issues depression.. domestic violence and all the other ills caused by shutdown.

Then we can compare and contrast.

Sweden's capital may get herd immunity a year two before we do.
Right now... its all guess work... about what the best outcomes will look like.

Frankly... if there is a second wave in the fall...
There will be no doubt that this lockdown and hide was a complete failure.
Because unless this virus burns out on its own.
this current lockdown accomplished very little after the first few weeks in NY... and the hospital beds stayed open.

The shutdown is doing massive harm.
Against... almost no benefits for the low risk groups.
