Precisely! You have to wait until the data set is done before you can make a claim. I agree.

Its just too bad you didn't lead with this angle and instead made yourself look like a dope.

Oh, by the way, the data is weekly, through week 46. So it does include part of November. In case you want to recalculate your pace based on a linear hypothesis.

You should note that the Sweden's government website states that the death data for November is not complete yet. At most you have partial data for November. Keep in mind that it takes Sweden several weeks to compile non-COVID and COVID death data.

Let's assume that only one more month remains in the year even. 84,000 deaths so far plus an average of 7,500 deaths in December equals an estimated 91,500 total deaths for 2020 --- which is above the average of 90,000 (approx.) over the last decade.

Laces claim was "Sweden is likely to see the lowest number of total deaths in a decade." This is obviously bullshiat.

Seeing that Sweden has recently reported 174 COVID deaths in a single day for a 24 hour period. Things do not look like they are improving.

If it ends up at 91,5 then I would call it a tremendous success. Especially given the bad flu season a few years ago. This would call into question any lockdown strategy at all.

But we have to wait and see.

Yep... time to close the schools. Even the Swedes recognize this...

Sweden Closes High Schools Until Early January to Stem COVID-19 Infections
    https://www.voanews.com/covid-19-pa...-until-early-january-stem-covid-19-infections

Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Lofven announced Thursday that high schools would switch to distance learning beginning Monday through early January to slow the rate of COVID-19 infections in the country.

Lofven made the announcement at a Stockholm news conference alongside Swedish Education Minister Anna Ekstrom. He said he hoped the move would have a “breaking effect” on the rate of COVID-19 infections.

He added it was not intended to extend the Christmas break for students and he said he was putting his trust in them that they would continue to study from home. The distance learning will be in effect until January 6.

After a lull during summer, Sweden has seen COVID-19 cases surge over the past couple of months, with daily records repeatedly set. Deaths and hospitalizations have also risen sharply.

Meanwhile, earlier Thursday, Swedish State Epidemiologist Anders Tegnell told reporters he did not think masks were necessary, just two days after the World Health Organization (WHO) expanded its advice to use masks as part of a comprehensive strategy to combat the spread of COVID-19.

Tegnell said that in some situations, masks might be necessary, but that the current situation in Sweden did not require it. He said the evidence for wearing a mask was weak and he believed social distancing was much more important.

In its expanded guidelines, the WHO said that where the virus was circulating, people — including children and students age 12 or older — should always wear masks in shops, workplaces and schools that lack adequate ventilation, and when receiving visitors at home in poorly ventilated rooms.

On Thursday, Sweden reported 6,485 new COVID-19 cases and 35 new virus-related deaths, bringing the nation’s total COVID-19 fatalities to 7,007.

Nope, it isn't. And we'll keep sending our kids to school in Florida and educating them, because there's no risk to them.

Happy to discuss mortality rate for children if you'd like. But we have that whole other thread on the subject where you've been beat to ground.

As noted on the DeSantis thread.... the most recent White House Task Force report informs Florida that they should close the schools. Why doesn't Gov. DeSantis follow the best public health guidance from the Trump White House?

Haha...you don't get to slam the White House Task Force for being wrong the whole pandemic and then suddenly trumpet them when they follow a policy you claim to be correct and like.

    You're a joke.

Why would I keep my kids at home? Do you have data showing they are at risk? Or shall I dig up all the data I have showing they are not?

Tell us again why Florida hides all the reports from the White House COVID task force and does not follow their guidance. It takes the threat of a lawsuit to get them released each time.

The reports for Florida have been providing consistent guidance for months based on the level of COVID in local communities and across the state.

Why doesn't Gov. DeSantis follow the best public health guidance to protect the residents of his state.

Again, I never told you this the first time, so I don't understand why you'd ask me to tell you it "again". I don't give a shit about your conspiracy theories. I care about the data.

You should email DeSantis and ask him. Tell him what a fan you are, and how much he owes you in rent for all that space he takes up in your head.

By the way, you still haven't told me why I can't send my kid to school and why the Swedes have it "right". You have some data?

DeSantis not releasing the White House COVID task force reports for Florida (which contradict his narrative) are not "conspiracy theories" . These are well-documented facts including the legal action from media and others to get the reports. There are multiple articles in this thread documenting this issue.
