In the Coronavirus Fight in Scandinavia, Sweden Stands Apart

  1. Hospitals make an extra 13K per covid patient. Of course they will list that as the cause of death. They make more money that way. IF you have ever been in a hospital, they like to run up charges like crazy. Do not trust them. They are there to make money.

They like to kick you our early. Why? Because you lying there blocks the next emergency room charges, tests, surgeries, you name it. This is how they make their money.

The data I looked at had Ontario running marginally higher death rates versus Sweden the last 9 days and Sweden has much higher new infection numbers. Ontario population 14.6 million has capped infections at 1000-1050 a day. Sweden population 10.1 million has been 1500-4500 infections on most recent days. One might say the current outbreak in Sweden is worse then the ones in Ontario. Elsewhere in Canada there are either higher infection rates ( Manitoba, Alberta ) or significantly higher death rates in Quebec due presumably to the larger outbreak a month plus ago. But thanks for highlighting how well Ontario is managing the Covid with all our schools open. I had no idea the outbreak in Sweden was so large.

As an aside, I was reading that in 1665, the University of Cambridge temporarily closed due to the bubonic plague. Isaac Newton had to work from home, and he used this time to develop calculus, the theory of gravity, and the 3 laws of motion.
In comparison my binge viewing of Netflix while eating popcorn and chips for the last 8 months may not have been the best use of the time

Check the thread... I explained many times sweden has 10 million people so the math should be easy...even for trolls.

If you claim to understand it, why are you drawing comparisons to Germany then?

Look dipshit... you are picking an argument for no reason.
I did not provide any editorial judgment with that post at all.

I posted it as an update for the fear mongering fools on this thread.
In the past GWB held up Germany as a country doing a great job at controlling Covid. (however, it should not be clear their their scheme of lockdown and testing and tracing did not contain this wave... )
Nine Morons is always telling us who great and how responsible the people of Canada
are and how shitty we are. (sort of)

So I gave them an update with no editorial comment.

If you felt like the numbers needed context... you could provide it.
I have multiple times in the past.

and even if you wish to do the ratio, Sweden is still doing relatively much much better. Do the math you will see.
(I, unfortunately, now expect that Sweden's numbers may rise soon.)

that is the best Covid post I have read.

    ---
It reminds me of a time I was into reading Russian authors years ago.
I spoke to genius friend of mine who liked to play beach volleyball on the weekends.

I asked how he was going to get his company to reach his goals if he was playing volleyball on the weekends and then enjoying his evenings like he did.
He said, "work hard play hard".
(it was not cliche when he said it.)

I asked could we ever be as productive as some of the great writers or thinkers. (He knew I was reading Brothers Karamazov)

His response... Russia had nine months of winter...
If Dostoevsky lived in San Diego his novels would have been much shorter.
