you morons still don't get it do you? Of course you can flatten the curve by locking down and harming the health and welfare and finances of the low risk group. But... after you reopen the virus just explodes again... So in presence of hospital capacity all you are doing is spreading to future dates. (or perhap a vaccine shows up) But... why not lockdown the high risk really well.. and let the low risk live if they choose to live?
just to be clear for Covid morons like you... I posted that website article for the laughs.. It advocates shutdown... that is not what advocate. However, I could have chosen plenty of headlines from other sites... If you do a search you will see plenty of headlines about covid cases exploding in germany.
More amazing... Sweden does not solve their problems. Just as amazing, those here hyping Sweden live in a country that does not have the same healthcare system as Sweden, does not have the same political system as Sweden nor have the same social disparities as Sweden. Strangely, not one of them still not able to acknowledge the countries that did not lockdown and still outperforming Sweden. Why ? Sweden is the only one that talked about herd immunity...something they have yet to achieve but will achieve with other countries when a vaccine is developed. Regardless, blissful ignorance is the commonality among those hyping Sweden during a Pandemic. 1 - 3 years after the conclusion of the Pandemic...none of them will have moved nor visited Sweden...that's the comical aspect. wrbtrader
Why do you keep bringing up California? We are not following the approach I advocate. We are a lockdown area and we had a ton of infections in parts of the state... but not many where I live.
Sweden's health care system contributed to a great deal of all the early deaths back in April and March. I told you this in the past. Regarding the US being not like Sweden is pretty brain dead. Considering that their said they don't have to wear masks and they did not have to lock down.
Yes we know your repetitive talking points but you just aren't aware at all what people are actually doing. Ontario has lower data then California AND our schools are open. There is no big harm to the "low risk" group going on here. Any financial risks have been taken care of. Perhaps you are the moron living in California. Because if we take everything you bitch and complain about on this site you'd have to be insane to live in California. Others that don't sweat all this stuff can live in California no problem.
Everything you advocate works... until you open up.. get it. In fact... taken it to the extreme for the point of illustration... Its not hard to imagine they if everyone stayed home for a 60 to 90 days the virus would disappear. But so would most of the hosts.
He sees everything in terms of absolutes and refuses to see long term data as being meaningful. The medical experts have said this ( roughly ) based on historical data : 1. Natural herd immunity never occurs unless a vaccine is in play or there is a ton of deaths. 2. It is impossible to fully protect the "high risk" from "low risk" with these viruses. It's been tried and the protection never worked. Even with Covid, it's obvious the high risk protection is only temporary then a new wave finds a way in. In Florida, for example, the senior homes initially did well not being impacted by the huge outbreak. Eventually the virus got through, massive deaths came in as the experts feared. Jem doesn't seem to realize he's going against the science not with it. He's unable to understand his B. of Arts leaves him unqualified to have a valid opinion on most of this.
you just typed a bunch of lies. there are plenty of headlines outlining the financial pain lockdowns cause you selfish leftist fool. you truly are a selfish leftists lying fool. And a quick search shows Canada has suffered plenty of damage and harm too. By the way this is not new thinking many of us have been saying this since the 3rd week of lockdown. New Thinking on Covid Lockdowns: They’re Overly Blunt and Costly Blanket business shutdowns—which the U.S. never tried before this pandemic—led to a deep recession. Economists and health experts say there may be a better way. WSJ advocates what many of us have been saying since week 1. https://www.wsj.com/articles/covid-...iness-shutdown-sweden-coronavirus-11598281419 In response to the novel and deadly coronavirus, many governments deployed draconian tactics never used in modern times: severe and broad restrictions on daily activity that helped send the world into its deepest peacetime slump since the Great Depression. The equivalent of 400 million jobs have been lost world-wide, 13 million in the U.S. alone. Global output is on track to fall 5% this year, far worse than during the financial crisis, according to the International Monetary Fund. Despite this steep price, few policy makers felt they had a choice, seeing the economic crisis as a side effect of the health crisis. They ordered nonessential businesses closed and told people to stay home, all without the extensive analysis of benefits and risks that usually precedes a new medical treatment. There wasn’t time to gather that sort of evidence: Faced with a poorly understood and rapidly spreading pathogen, they prioritized saving lives. Five months later, the evidence suggests lockdowns were an overly blunt and economically costly tool. They are politically difficult to keep in place for long enough to stamp out the virus. The evidence also points to alternative strategies that could slow the spread of the epidemic at much less cost. As cases flare up throughout the U.S., some experts are urging policy makers to pursue these more targeted restrictions and interventions rather than another crippling round of lockdowns. “We’re on the cusp of an economic catastrophe,” said James Stock, a Harvard University economist who, with Harvard epidemiologist Michael Mina and others, is modeling how to avoid a surge in deaths without a deeply damaging lockdown. “We can avoid the worst of that catastrophe by being disciplined,” Mr. Stock said. more at the link....
you are so dumb. you are the moron who does no understand you have to balance the damage done vs the harm saved if you wish to be smart and just.
