Discipline is a requirement of trading. Discipline is a requirement of working in employment. Discipline is a requirement of life in general. And discipline is a requirement of venting on ET or venting on anyone, spouse, family, drivers on the road...
"A bull market tends to bail you out of all your mistakes. Conversely bear markets make you PAY for your mistakes." - Richard Russell ( The Dow Letters)
Many years ago when I started into sales, I read many classic sales books, Dale Carnegie, Napolean Hill... These books dealt in the psychology of sales and success. They were at the time for me life changers to my attitude on life, mind blowing! I grew up in a church environment but the church for me was an abject failure at this task, full of wishful thinking and quite remote from reality.
"Gratitude is the healthiest of all human emotions. The more you express gratitude for what you have, the more likely you will have even more to express gratitude for." - Zig Ziglar
I have to say I agree with LL. But I don't see it as a Machiavelli, but rather a "Smith"(Adam): " It is not from the benevolence of the butcher, the brewer, or the baker that we expect our dinner, but from their regard to their own interest. We address ourselves, not to their humanity but to their self-love, and never talk to them of our own necessities but of their advantages. Nobody but a beggar chooses to depend chiefly upon the benevolence of his fellow-citizens."
"To feel much for others and little for ourselves; to restrain our selfishness and exercise our benevolent affections, constitute the perfection of human nature." - Adam Smith
"Remain calm, serene, always in command of yourself. You will then find out how easy it is to get along." - Paramahansa Yogananda
