In 24 hours, you will be deaf. What to listen to today?

Bugenhagen, I put some time into that and thought about the songs that makes my ears/emotions tingle. If you listen to them or not is your choice. I would hate to lose my hearing and whether you go through with the surgery or not, I hope you do not lose yours. Perhaps the lack of ear protection while firing ammunition over the years contributed to your troubles. My hearing has degraded just from live music over the years. Tinnitus in the middle of the night is troubling.

My son used to play this game with me. He asked if I were to lose a finger on my right hand, which would I want to lose or if I were to lose hair would I shave my head or rock the thinning hair. That sort of stuff. The only hypothetical question that made me think was, if I were to lose a sense, which one would I miss most. Vision was always my #1.

To relate it to ET; I would want to lose my sense of hearing so I couldn't hear overnight's endless audio of youtube's, sense of touch so I couldn't feel kalhoun's losses, sense of taste so I didn't have to taste expiated's unhealthy "healthy" recipes, and sense of smell so I couldn't smell vanzant's bullshit coming from a mile away.

Good luck and best wishes Bugenhagen.

Sorry, I fluffed the post and my big brother rang, been discussing whether to go ahead or bear it on the hope some new medical option will arise. I feel it may but.. The cost of waiting could be total hearing loss in one ear for sure.

The condition may have to be named after me but its essentially chondritis, cause a combination of nasty bacteria, explosions and shit. I had a lot of nerve damage from shockwaves, hydrostatics are a bitch.

A lot of the inside ear structure is paper thin but by some miricle still working quite normally just I get severe, have to catch your breath, nerve pains very often.

The operation would close the ears and support the middle ear structures better but..only bone conductive sounds and soon after the op hearing would degrade a lot but not entirely they are very confident.

Worse things have happened, considering how many times I've been nearly blown up not being stone deaf in my 20s was a small miricle anyway.

I'm still a bit coin flippy on the operation but... I think I'll probably take the risk and wait longer.

    Thanks Vtechno, appreciate the thoughts.

As I said above to Overnight above yep a lot of bangs and boom wear and tear plus a slightly necrotising and incredibly resistent bacteria.

How could I not hear Overnight's link clips though? OK pass the ice pick haha ;)

Losing sight would be way worse of course, for example I saw this the other day and kept it for Overnight, ET's most dedicated BSG fan

Never heard of "Chrondritis" either. Seems to involve inflammation.

As for the BSG, I can see #6 on the right, but who is the chick on the left? That's not Saul's wife, is it?

Meanwhile you post a grungy version of Simon and Garfunkel. And I am the one who is audio offending here? LOL!

    Gosh. What's next, Pearl Jam?

    Mreh, how about some Offspring?
