Please provide input on what areas the OP and the person you're replying to need to focus on. I don't repeat the myths in my posts. I haven't read much on trading (I have bought quite a few books, but haven't opened most of them yet). My comments come from my own trading experience and the experience of training others to whom I provide funds for trading (successfully, I might add). Grob doesn't seem to want to elaborate on the specifics of what the average trader needs to focus on. Since you are in agreement with him, please go ahead and let us know what the correct approach to learning should be. Should they use NLP? Or should they use iterative learning from making mistakes and recognizing successes (how much money is needed to do that with?)? Seriously, I'm looking for anyone who claims that what I'm saying is just myths and is a terrible way to look at trading to come out and be specific. Despite my experience, I'm a lifelong student of the market so I'm very interested in specifics. Anyone can come on and provide vague reasoning and say that what they are reading here is garbage. Please try to provide some useful pointers; some direction. Thanks.
Read his post again. It was a very sucinct statement of where you are and that you have dug a huge hole for yourself. He was direct and forthright with you and you can see by your response above that you, in fact, do not "get it". there are zillions of people such as yourself. You better take note and promptly get on the ball to get out of the trap you set for yourself. you are wasting time and that cannot be recovered.
Jack. Englisgh not being his native language, I think ilcaa just wanted to practice and use ICARUS in a sentence: "...lives vICARioUSly through...", hahaha! Mike.
People go through about 8 stages of doubling their performance and effectiveness over thier careers. This growth is not a function of learning in general. It is a specific process of gaining usable, always at one's fingertips, knowledge, experience and skills. The reference to the doublings is based upon the initial capital. Losses are not important. Where anyone to review their stages so far in that process; they would note that the list, stated in positive terms, reads like an add and delete list. Not everyone is capable of doing this list for two reasons: they cannot conceive of doing it and they have not gone through the eight stages. One of the symptoms I noted in the upper stages I went through with respect to equities was repeated citations form the SEC for insider trading. Another is the statements that CEO's made to the public regarding the bullshit on the street as a consequence of group trading using a common method. Two notable examples that high level trading precipitated were T. J. Watson and Dr. Tang a joint statement in this case) You are having fun baiting others here. What can straighten you out very shortly is a list of the eight levels and the specific training and work requirements of those levels to succeed at those levels. You are on about level two of the list.
Thanks for letting me know that there is a lot of gloom and doom ahead for me. I'm glad you have found "the path" to unbounded fulfillment. My post using the "don't" and "not's" is an attempt to help the OP avoid some of the pitfall I have learned from. The do's are up to him to discover and manage according to his personal style and character. I definitely appreciate the reply and its clarity. It goes to show that you can, in fact, write in a way that is uncomplicated and easily understandable. I do very well as a trader, but I know that there is a lot more out there to learn. It is a process. I look forward to that google search to find out what it is you are referring to (NLP maybe?). Again, your answer is appreciated.
FT71. Don't be deceived. Jack has two styles. If you are weak, he builds you up. If you are strong, he tears you down. For whose ego benefit you can well imagine. Welcome to the B-Team. It is sooooo lonely. Mike.
Well. That's a reply I can appreciate. Can you suggest to me where I can find this list? Like I said, I'm a student of many things and would be happy to be a student of what it is you refer to. You speak of a list, but for some reason that is beyond my "level two" training I fail to see a reference to it. What you claim you have seems like very powerful knowledge of the learning process? Would you be willing to share the source or reference?
And while we are playing word and mind games, let's talk about beneficial uses of the word "not". A perfectly good word to use when there is no positive way to put things. For example, "I will not believe everything Jack posts." Or "I have not seen Jack post any execution reports." Or "I have not been able to search here on much of the educational material Jack says he has posted."
If he is building up those who are weak, then that is a great service and good karma. Either way, I have strong opinions about many things but I know that I am flexible and will consider new ideas when I get exposed to them. Different people have different levels of consciousness and experience and are either ready or not for ideas that they might get exposed to. If something doesn't ring true to me, then I'm probably not ready for it. I am just fascinated that someone with so much alleged experience can forecast the future of another based on reading his posts. It says a lot to me. I like it when my thoughts/ideas/beliefs are challenged. It is like spring cleaning.
