Hi, I understand that the turtle system (http://www.originalturtles.org/docs/turtlerules.pdf) has been bashed quite a lot recently, but I need to start somewhere and have been playing around with System2 (55 day breakout). Could some of the wiser (than me!) members of ET could give me some tips on improving it. The attached chart is of the FTSE, and I have yet to test going short. - If you look at chart.longTurtle, the 1st 3 buys are followed by small peaks before being stopped out. - The next two buys are on rising highs which are stopped out on lows. Are there ways to iron out these problems? Profit targets were mentioned on another thread. I tried setting a profit target of 3 times the stop, but this reduced profitability. Thanks, The Stats Monkey.
