I'd like for someone to explain why Trump saying at the January 6 rally "I know that everyone here will soon be marching over to the Capitol building to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard" means he incited insurrection.

    I'll explain.
Trump the serial liar said it but didn't mean it.
What he did mean was "I need to say these words as an out for the future investigation"

(Once again,) Your premise is faulty.

An objection could be that it, 'assumes facts not in evidence.'

IOW, they did not impeach based on your quote. Your quote may, or may not, have been part of the evidence; but that's not how your worded your query.

    Dumbed down:

The actual allegation against him was based on multiple facts; not one quote you cherry-picked and proffered as the only relevant fact at issue.

You're not that bright, are you? Not because of your query; but because you thought no one would see what you did there.

Correct. In fact, the gaslighting Idiot Dems chose to cut that out of the case entirely.

Of course he wasn't impeached based that quote. But the articles of impeachment said Trump was impeached based on what he did at the January 6 rally. They fail to mention the quote of Trump directly telling people at the rally to be peaceful.

The "multiple facts" are Trump said things we don't think are true attached to some political rhetoric. That's translated to mean attack the Capitol even though he said be peaceful.

To dumb it down for those here with TDS

The House Managers presented plenty of evidence that the orange man was bad (and I agree he's a bad person), but they did not prove the case as presented in the articles of impeachment. They could have done better.

Only to your point that Trump said so.

This is something even kids know:

People lie in an attempt to cover up wrongdoings--before and after the fact. Especially, as you admit Trump is, bad people.

For example, if I said, "I mean no disrespect, but you're a dumbass." How credible would my "I mean no disrespect" assertion be to a person of normal intelligence?

Would you defend me and my assertion against the Respect Police?

No. You wouldn't. Because even you could see that my qualifier was clearly bullshit.

I think it's cute that you, despite ALL the OTHER facts, think Trump actually wanted the crowd to stay peaceful.

OJ didn't do it ... cause he said so.
Trump wanted peace ... cause he said so.
No current prisoner is guilty ... because they all say so.

Let's just take everyone at their word; fuck all other evidence.

Only Banana Republic residents consider all available evidence.

His actions leading into January 6th is where his guilt was born. Unfortunately, its not what was needed to convince 17 GOP members that he was guilty via his actions alone on January 6th.

Regardless, he's damage goods and the real mission was accomplish by +84 million voters plus taking a few strategic states.

Simply, the Democrats will move quickly into more important things (e.g. managing Covid-19, Economic Recovery) and Trump will be forgotten within a few weeks except by state prosecutors for his other crimes and we all know the media will not forget.

As for the insurrectionists...I doubt any of them will receive any prison time except for the few that are associated with any domestic terrorist groups.

Yet, I strongly believe in KARMA...life will be a bitch to all of those idiots including for Trump going forward.

  9. Surprisingly many felt he was guilty but that they voted not guilty simply on a procedural matter or that they felt the Senate was not the right place to try the case. so they agree that he created the situation that led to the attack but decide to rely on a formality the Senate already rejected...

In addition to his actions/inactions after the event started.
