My understanding of impeachment is congress decides what is impeachable and how to conduct the "trial," so it isn't like a criminal trial.

The Democratic prosecution strategy seems to be something like after endlessly complaining Trump is incompetent and couldn't find his way out of a closet, he is now a master criminal who planned the Capitol riots and an overthrow of the U.S. government years in advance. They did this with out-of-context videos, tweets and other statements from Trump and rioters saying they thought this was what Trump wanted.

The defense strategy was to say
    • Trump was denied due process (not ok at a real trial, but may be fine for impeachment).
    • The Constitution supports freedom of speech, so Trump can communicate political rhetoric just like all the Democratic politicians and their surrogates.
    • The context of Trump's communications (including some from the House Managers' own videos) demonstrate he desired peaceful protest.

In other words, the persecution prosecution relied on emotion, while the defense relied on Constitutional arguments and actual evidence.

Since the outcome of the trial was known in advance, both sides will likely declare victory.:)

The Democrats are still promoting tha Trump supporters ran a Biden bus off the road when it was proven that a member of Biden's caravan caused the incident.

    They got nothing, like always.

Witnesses wouldn't have made much difference because both sides could find witnesses with conflicting testimony. And cults are on both sides.

lol queef--the Trump cult pickup truck is shown trying to force the bus off the road. The FBI concurs.

Agree there's cults on both of the parties but one side actually stormed the Capitol to stop the Electoral Vote confirmation...tried to stop Democracy.

Yet, having witnesses to his behavior during the insurrection still would not change the minds of the GOP to find 17 guilty.

Instead, it will sway public opinion for those clinging to the belief that his behavior was "normal" or "acceptable" going into the criminal investigation for other crimes after the Impeachment...

New York, Georgia and a few other states have investigations and pending criminal charges that could implement more family members besides Donald Trump.

It sure looks like the white (Biden) SUV is in the (Trump) pickup truck's lane and then gets pushed back in its proper lane. In any event, cars aren't toys, and the idiots driving the Trump trucks should not have been harassing the Biden entourage.

No retard--the Trump cult pickup clearly leaves his lane, while behind the bus, in an attempt to force the white Honda SUV out of the way.

Trump proceeded to pen a congratulatory tweet to the driver of the Trumper pickup.

    You fail. And you're stupid.
