I hope this guy is wrong... I am not sure about his timeline going forward or if this is ADE right now...

however, we cant stop the high risk from getting symptomatic and spreading disaster seems likely.

This should have always been about protecting and isolating the high risk.
Still is. When will the media and politicians discuss the true issue.

This virus... behaves like it was designed to take down a certain segment of the population. If we don't get clear with that... it may take down a much larger segment.

here... we go... its probably coming and the experts knew these risks all along.

But, now that we all see breakthrough infections... they have give us warning of the true risks out there.

Risks you really can't put to a probability... that is just calm the public or wishful thinking.

    ...

    Probability of ‘super variant’
Brilliant said his models on the Covid outbreak in San Francisco and New York predict an “inverted V-shape epidemic curve.” That implies that infections increase very quickly, but would also decline rapidly, he explained.

If the prediction turns out be true, it means that the delta variant spreads so quickly that “it basically runs out of candidates” to infect, explained Brilliant.

There appears to be a similar pattern in the U.K. and India, where the spread of the delta variant has receded from recent highs.

But I do caution people that this is the delta variant and we have not run out of Greek letters so there may be more to come.
    Larry Brilliant
    EPIDEMIOLOGIST
Daily reported cases in the U.K. — on a seven-day moving average basis — fell from a peak of around 47,700 cases on July 21 to around 26,000 cases on Thursday, according to statistics compiled by online database Our World in Data.

In India, the seven-day moving average of daily reported cases has stayed below 50,000 since late June — far below the peak of more than 390,000 a day in May, the data showed.

“That may mean that this is a six-month phenomenon in a country, rather than a two-year phenomenon. But I do caution people that this is the delta variant and we have not run out of Greek letters so there may be more to come,” he said.

The epidemiologist said there is a low probability that a “super variant” may emerge and vaccines don’t work against it. While it’s hard to predict these things, he added, it’s a non-zero probability, which means it cannot be ruled out.

“It’s such a catastrophic event should it occur, we have to do everything possible to prevent it,” said Brilliant. “And that means get everyone vaccinated — not just in your neighborhood, not just in your family, not just in your country but all over the world.”

But in addition to boosting vaccination in countries with a low inoculation rate, Brilliant said one group of people needs a booster shot “right away” — those who are 65 years and above, and were fully vaccinated more than six months ago but have a weakened immune system.

“It is this category of people that we’ve seen create multiple mutations when the virus goes through their body,” said the epidemiologist.

“So those people, I would say, should be given a third dose, a booster right away — as quickly as moving the vaccines to those countries that haven’t had a very high chance to buy them or have access to them. I consider those two things about equal,” he added.

Imprinting is not expected to be a problem with the new mRNA vaccines. Of course their disadvantage is that they are not as persistent as the older types of vaccines. So far those vaccinated with a mRNA vaccine for the first time in January are still showing good protection against getting severely ill from the delta strain. Nevertheless, it is recommended that those in a high risk category get a booster shot.

There are some who can access the vaccine for free who are still unvaccinated, Unfortunately, there is no vaccine, at least not yet, against stupidity.

You have zero credibility to say imprinting is not expected to be a problem.
I can not see how anybody can handicap that risk... these vaccines are new.

    2. This is very serious question piezoe because while I know you play for you team...

    2. I respect you intelligence on scientific matters so please explain why...

A healthy person under 30 would want a vaccine...
do not forget the stats show there is virtually zero risk of death and if they have enough vitamin D... per CDC stats and other studies they probably have zero risk of ICU.

Now sure just like flu they have a tiny risk of some longer term problems... but... only 40 percent of the people get a flu shot.

2 part b... (since I do not expect you to admit... the stats show my position is correct and because it does not matter for my son)

my son is going to have to get a shot to take his labs on campus. (he needs his labs for internships and jobs)

so far... I like the risks of the JNJ vaccines for younger men vs mRNA. (I think blood clots on hit young women not men so I have seen very little other risk)

do you think the mRNA is safer for a healthy somewhat athletic 21 year old?

New Orlean's Children's Hospital is full of pediatric Covid cases, many in the ICU. Very tragic situation as these kids were not eligible for vaccination.

from a local news channel in New Orleans...[ Fox, I think]

Children make up more than 2,000 of the new COVID-19 cases reported in Louisiana
Governor Edwards imposes indoor mask mandate for everyone
...“There were people who said children don’t get the disease, they can’t transmit the disease, we knew that those were fallacies all along but particularly now that the Delta variant has emerged it has become very clear that children are being heavily impacted by this organism, and by this pandemic at this point, perhaps more than ever before,” said Kline.

Man, I call this shit months ago on this forum, so credit where credit is due, "Mr. Brilliant".

And has Mr. Brilliant noticed that Epsilon and Lambda are SLOWLY creeping into the MSM lexicon? Just a matter of time.
