That’s fair too. I don’t disagree the media has or at least should have an obligation to correct the messages or misinformation that they broadcast.
I think dissolving the fairness doctrine and centralizing a rich media ecosystem into giant conglomerates to push candidacies as they pleased has done a giant disservice to our discourse. The internet is taking us back to times before this dissolution with the growing pains which that entails (mass disinformation). Attempts at clamping down on "mis/disinformation" have to be observed quite critically and likely avoided as regaining centralization/monopolization will be sold to us with an altruistic veneer. It's dangerous times w/echo chambers and government intel meddling no doubt but I think if people come out of this w/better media literacy and a more skeptical eye, we might all be better for it.
