Are you kidding? Do some legwork. Tens of millions of Americans earn below 35K a year. Nearly half the US labor force earns less than ~25K a year!!! Hold old are you? 20?

  3. Why do you say you're from Canada one day, and the USA the next day?

  5. I agree immigrants are the cause of all our problems. In my opinion, anyone who cannot trace his ancestry back to 1783 in this country, i.e. if your ancestor came to the USA after this date, should be detained and deported home as an illegal immigrant.

  6. I'm smack dap in the middle of the "Immigration" battle. Front line is Texas.

I have mixed feelings. There are a lot of labors who come over to work illegally. I say give them work permits for seasons. Let them work and go home. That way, If americans want the jobs offered to illegals...then we know how many Permits to allow for "mexican" labor.

Liberals/Socialist have allowed the "Gangs" and Drug thugs to come over and live in Sanctuary cities like Dallas and Houston. I think all Illegals with criminal records, should be rounded up..they know where they are...most are on Food Stamps.

Most of the US jobs are being outsourced now, in Telecom call centers, manufacturing, textile, and more to leave soon.
So, the argument that "American's" will not work the "Labor" jobs or the jobs of cleainging the bathroom is wrong. They will once they wake up.

I agree...stop the unemployment of 99 weeks. Soon, unemployment will be much like wealfair. Unemployment has never been extended for this long, from what I understand.

It's hard for many out there. And will be for the next decaded. There is no recovery in sight for the US right now. But, you gota do what you gota do to work. If that means, day labor, Mcdonalds, bus boy, until things turn.. than so be it.

  7. When the economy is rapidly expanding and there is strong demand for labor, the results of the study may hold true. But what about right now in 2010? With our current high rates of unemployement, do you really believe that increasing the supply of labor relative to the demand for labor is going to increase wages? In my state of California, there are 6 people looking for jobs for every job opening. Do you think that increasing that ratio to 7/1 or 8/1 is going increase peoples' incomes?

I prefer the first potato famine as the cut off date. But my wife would probably prefer 1960s because her parents came over from Holland to get an MBA.

My wife does not laugh when I call her an anchor baby.

  10. You're completely out to lunch. How about a reality check. Those Americans you say would take those jobs aren't the same Americans of our father or grandfather's generation. Those guys would never think of government assistance when times were tough, they had pride, not this current crop of freeloaders.

Get your head out of your ass. None of the people collecting 2 years worth of unemployment, freeloading off of food stamps, not paying their mortgages are cut from the same cloth as previous generations.

    Your stupidity is blinding.
