What a classless, zero-integrity moron you are. What's with you losers who can't admit you're wrong, even when you contradict yourselves? First you wrote: In terms of factual evidence, US Navy, far from a liberal institution, deemed John McCain NOT to be worthy of the lowest admiral rank. Then you contradicted yourself with this: It is possible McCain could have retired as a rear admiral at the end of his convoluted career but what essentially guaranteed was the he was never gonna measure up to his father and grandfather. Now you continue to try to tap dance your way out of it. This is not about how great McCain was or not. It's about the stupidity of your original statement in a post where you ironically criticized Tsing Tao's reasoning. You're an assclown and a hypocrite. Look shit-for-brains -- not being selected for promotion at any given point in time absolutely does NOT mean one's been "deemed... NOT to be worthy." Your uninformed "reasoning" shows you have no idea how promotions in the military work. One might not be selected in a given year because of (military) politics, or because too many have been "deemed worthy" and it's not yet their turn, or any number of reasons. Most admirals and generals have non-selections in their pasts, and it doesn't mean what you "think" it does.
Because he chose to retired you dumbass. How far would Obama have gotten in the Navy given that he can't even accept responsibility for his own failures? How would Obama have held up as a severely tortured prisoner of war for 5 1/2 years? Would Obama have had the courage and character to refuse early release as McCain did? You pussy, that's called bravery. Combat is about accomplishing the mission, not "playing it safe." You need to get out of the safety of your mommy's basement once in a while.
One of the best posts I've read in awhile. The chronology is also spot on, it's rarely mentioned around these parts as major contributing factors to this current fiasco.
Yes, quite good, a gem hidden in the mud. One might also mention that George W. Bush was always very careful to not comment on ongoing investigations or police operations. Obama seems perfectly happy to blunder into police investigations and make divisive misinformed comments like "the police acted stupidly" or "if I had a son he would look like Treyvon". To Barrack Obama every tragedy is an opportunity to advance some part of his agenda, if it isn't irreverence it is stupidity.
I know exactly how the process works. The president nominates with the advice of various parties and senate confirms. My original statement as written was correct. McCain was not nominated that year and no guarantees of being nominated down the road either. I did some research. It took McCain's grandfather 37 years of service to be nominated for rear admiral and it took McCain's father 27 years to be nominated. At the time of McCain's retirement, he had 23 years under his belt. Bear in mind, his father and grandfather got nominated after storied careers filled with successful combat assignments while McCain's resume is a train wreck. You are desperately trying to dispute the obvious. McCain saw the writing on the wall, Reagan was not going to be president forever and there was no guarantee he would ever be nominated. The fact that be allegedly wanted guarantees about being a 4 star admiral at some point shows how entitled he was. There is NOTHING in his resume that makes him worthy of even Rear Admiral lower half rank. It can be argued, he did not even deserve Captain rank either, he just rode the coattails of his father and grandfather.' Obama exceeded his father in every way, was an exemplary family man and has 2 children. McCain was inferior to his father in every way, was a horrible husband and has a track record of recklessness, bad temper, entitlement and mediocrity all of his life. Spin that.
No, asswipe, you have NO IDEA how the process works. You're just parroting what you've googled. By law, rear admiral selections are recommendations from selection boards that become presidential nominations which must be confirmed by the senate but practically speaking the latter are formalities that rubber stamp promotion board results 99.9% of the time. Senior admirals sit on those boards and, depending on the CNO, have "quotas" for how many of their boys they can put on the list with no questions asked. There's a lot of horse trading and many times the selections are more political than merit based. But non-selection by any particular board is in NO WAY "factual evidence" of being "deemed... NOT to be worthy." What a loser you must be to keep stomping your little feet about something you know nothing about, especially in response to my post where I showed that you contradicted yourself.
