Not a mechanical system, but rather an analytical system. If on the way from A to B, the vehicle should not do C, but it does it, one should get out. Similar to: a partner in business should not cheat you (C), but if he does, you get out even if he would not do it later and the partnership would be profitable later (the B). This is not precise as an example, but to illustrate. This is not against discretionary trading, but as a matter of fact, it is discretionary to the extent that the trader makes decisions, however framed within an analytical framework supported by theoretical results that exclude unacceptable paths, so that when one makes a move he knows the reason why, as well as the reason of when and why he does leave. The brain rarely goes against rational decision supported by fundamental results, and the emotional part usually goes to sleep if the mind is in control in a solid framework.
Thanks! I appreciate your kind words. Sorry if I missed replying to any questions you might have had. D
<i>"Anyone offering their services in response to this thread aren't worth the time taken to respond."</i> Why? Is the only purpose for this website preschool trolling which 2% of the overall readership (sub-100 I.Q. males) consider entertainment? If so, what are we both doing here, risk? * There's some chance the OP is serious. I'd like to think he's more serious than 97.5% of the collective threads archived here. If that's the case and he legitimately has funds to manage, I'm willing to bet a few of the respondants can do as well or better than many/most public fund managers are doing now. Random chance of probability at work there. There's some chance the OP is full of s(tuff). Which places this thread in perfect company. In either case, no harm done. If the OP wants to create a fund of funds operation and handpicks aspiring managers, how is that any different than usual due process? Maybe the respondants are all total losers. Sounds a lot like the myriad hedge fund managers who blew this market down from S&P 1500+ to current levels tonight. Maybe one or three know what they're doing. Remains to be seen, I guess.
I think that Atticus point deserves more credit. Here is why. What if someone shows up just like Doug on here, pays for the classifieds (say $300), then collect a hundred or more names/contacts, etc, then go out and sell them to 10 agencies for 10 buck a piece. So a person like doug will collect at least 10K, pays 300 to ET, and get out fresh. The suckers would then be us (those giving their names, and those responding to a person who would pose like doug).
Dude... I think you might need a new bullshit meter. In fact, maybe you should look into getting a opportunity meter. You might be able to find one on ebay... Doug
Awwwww c-o-m-p-l-e-t-e-l-y sweet. Sort of managing the fun of all the fun when fantasy meets ignorance and vice versa.
Doug: I have made multiple posts on your thread. Any response from you? The only thing a person really can determine in a forum is one's articulation of point of view based on logic/facts/etc. If I were you, I would focus on facts rather than chasing the few who oppose you claim, or spending time on those who compliment you. If I were you, I would focus on substance and people with legitimate questions and concerns.
Are you Doug? Sorry I had to pose the question, and in this manner. I will believe whatever answer you will give, but I had to ask.
...I would mind my own business. Shesh, 3000 posts and you don't know Austin? What the hell have you been doing here in the last year? Look, the guy made an offer, 100 people took him up on the offer. Whatever happens it is going to be THEIR business, not yours. But thanks for the warning (from you and from the 20 posts newbies) Actually finding talent on ET is not such a bad idea. One can learn how to trade from ET or just blindly follow talent (live trades), one just has to know how to find the good threads!!! (your calls were good too, by the way!) So if you are interested, send him a PM, if not, don't bother in this thread. Simple enough...
