Can you elaborate more on your plan? I hedge my longs from time to time with equal shorts when I'm clueless of the next direction or I have to step away for other matters. Some say balance risk by shorting poor stocks and longing great stocks. But with the crap eventually coming down the pike, everything will come down and longs will loose money at least temperarilly till it bounces back.

We have Japans disaster to guide our recovery but it doesn't help that all new people are dumped right in the middle of the crisis. So its uncertain when good plans are implimented so everything remains sideways with a measure of uncertainty up or down.

As near as I can tell, there is going to come a point where I will have to sit on my hands till it gets clearer what is what.

You don't have a clue who I am or of my performance to date, so your comment is really pretty worthless. Now, if you had already predicted that on that date RIMM was going to warn, then tell us how you knew to avoid the gap. RIMM has a 3% short interest and there was no short cover bounce. 80million shares were caught long in the panic dump and I just had to suck it up like everybody else. The percentage says that only the few shorts on it made money on the plunge. It was blind luck because it was poised for another rally attempt from the previous days selloff. RIMM was about the only stock that went the other way that day soley due to that surprise warning nobody saw coming.

I could have been hedged, but I saw it as a virtual sure thing with its past performance. But, its no big deal as Ill trade it back again. I'm just so amazed that I loaded up long just a few hours before. The bad timing was so incredible, but the profit will come back pretty quick. In the future, I will research past warning dates and steer clear of trading on future dates where a warning could be issued. But if I know a warning is coming, great short opportunity. I did that with NOK. People traded it up but all my research said they wouldn't make their earnings, so I shorted a ton of it. That was a very profitable plunge for me when they reported. So there you go. I'd like to be right all the time, but I'm only human.

    :D

I was looking back at RIMMs history and they have warned before. 4 weeks before the earnings date. From now on, I don't trade near the warning dates. Nobody preanounces great earnings to come.

But even if I had known about this date before, I still would have been long because of the previous sell off, and because Verizon and AT&T both said blackberries were selling like hotcakes. It was a trade that made such perfect sense that I had a lot of company.

  5. Yeah, my comment is worthless and that's why you chose to write two paragraphs worth of bullshit with a feeble attempt to justify yourself.

You would do yourself a favor by realizing that you do not know what you're doing. Because once you will recognize that, you can start on the right track. But you seem to be too much of a stubborn arrogant idiot who fools himself into thinking he is smart. So I doubt you will do that.

Arrogant? I have read some of your past posts and it is you that acts as an arrogant angry trader wannabe spreading venum, post after post. Its quite clear to me that you are a very angry individual lashing out to disipate your own boiling energies, no doubt due to huge financial losses that you just cant come to terms with.

If you had something usefull to say, there would no doubt be listeners, but your rants are just offensive and of no use to anybody here except those that share in your company. Be gone pip squeek, unless you are willing to change your ways and be helpful instead of insulting. You beller about the right track, so why don't you lay it out in detail so people can understand and learn, instead of being insulting and acusatory. After all, we all want to make money, and we all want to learn better ways to do it. And thats the only reason I am here.

No, I'm discovering that there are a lot of arse holes on this forum, and thats just too bad. As they say, it only takes a few to really ruin things for everybody. Ill try to ignore the jerks from here on as best as I can, but if Im not having fun being here then Im just going to leave. I was here 6 or 7 years ago, and it wasnt like this at all. People were much friendlier. Now I am finding it to be all fukked up. People only get mean when they've lost something really dear to them. I cant help any of that, but I won't sit here and take the punishment for it either.

Hmm, my post was deleted. No doubt by management. Ill say it one more time and print a screenshot as fact of it. Mr Marketinme and those like him, you are treading on very dangerous ground. Your attacks against me here represent wanton libel. There has already been legal presidence set for this stemming from unprovoced chat room attacks. If you persist in defaming my character, I will file lawsuit against you and teach you of other ways to loose money. I could even file class action status on behalf of all the others you harrassed and libeled. I wont warn you again.

  10. LOL.....you sign up 2 months ago, make some friends :) and threaten a law suit in a chatroom?

"If" you are a trader, you have some serious self esteem issues you may want to address.
