I'm glad the US is always willing to help struggling countries

  2. Read that last night... that killed me.

    I understand the point of building a bit of wealth and maybe a rainy day fund, but 80 @#$&ing billion?!?!

    This technically isn't funny seeing as how we're paying for their oil and their reconstruction.....when frankly there are plenty of reconstruction projects (bridges, roads, etc) that could use the money here in the US but this paragraph made me chuckle:

    "Iraq spent $3.9 billion on those sectors from 2005 through April 2008, according to the GAO, the investigative arm of Congress. The ongoing fighting there, a shortage of trained staff and weak controls have made it difficult for the Iraqi government to spend its surplus on needed projects, the agency's report concluded."

    Their government is too incompetent to spend money??? :eek:

    Why don't we send them ours incompetent government, they have NO PROBLEM wasting....I mean spending money. :confused:
