Anyone remember the Rowshan thread? Where he called a top that held for a few days, and was subsequently smashed? Meanwhile, he bragged endlessly about his great call. This thread is the exact same. In fact, sw sounds eerily similar to Rowshan's "Am I ever wrong?" attitude. When we revisit this thread in time and the top call is still held, I will consider your call a success, and will post congratulating you. But if we revisit this thread in time and your top call has been smashed, my guess is that you will have just disappeared into ET abyss...
If he could call tops and bottoms consistantly for the next ~10 years there might be some significance. Right now it's just short term luck and noise.
nice call SW. i dont care what time frame youre looking at as a target but a 50 pt SPX drop is pretty good for a move/short term (at the least) top to me.
that's the whole point wutang, i've been on this forum a long time and i've never done it before - until everything lined up but i'll give you credit for being an expert on noise it's all you've added to this thread
Again, would you call someone who made one call and was right once a genius or lucky? That's not a long enough track record to have any significance. Would you invest with someone because they made one good call? Ten calls in a row would not even be enough to determine if they're lucky or good. Not to mention the fact that it is still to early to determine if THE top is truly in. Congratulations, you had a 50/50 chance of being right and you got lucky, so far.
Well I don't know about other people, but I never suggested that your call for a drop to 1019 was out of the question, or in any way crazy. It has certainly happened pretty fast, so congrats on that one. My only point was your terminology of calling it "the" top. I think if you had avoided that particular choice of phrase, a lot of people would have responded differently, since that means different things to different people.
it was a title that would catch people's eyes and part of it involves a bit of common sense on the reader's part - i did feel, that if it was going to be debated, it should be done right away for instance, if the market were never going above sept high's ever again, then 2007 would be the top, not last month you've at least added some commentary that involves some thought wutang, hasnt
I think recent ES price action supports a tradable intermediate top. For details see here http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=177472&perpage=6&pagenumber=2
i've invited you to post a contrary opinion that was more than just yap yap yap, and you cant do it on ignore
Apparently telling you the truth and not engaging you in bullshitting about something you cannot predict is yap yap yap. Happy to be on your ignore. Will laugh when you blow up.
