Greenspan saw TASR at 147 the other day, and said oh s^%t ...not again...maybe I should drop that "considerable period" phrase about now.... The PPT will be there ....eventually No worries..
There is a negative serial correlation between Republican presidencies and Democratic presidencies, so I still believe that a Republician presidency is good for the market, but the effects would only begin to be seen when the term end. Vice-versa for a Democrat presidency. So if a democrat is elected this year, I would still be bullish next year due to the good stuff that Bush did.
Surprise, surprise! I just covered half of my shorts at an average of about 1030.70. Looking at the world markets (performance of the $, Nikkei, Japanese Bonds, etc.) my best guess is the market is going to blow this off and realize that the Fed still isn't going to do anything anytime soon. This is truly my feeling as well. I'm thinking that there is a chance that the market reverses (partially or fully) the move that it had yesterday. I'm adding to my long Yen position. Still holding a 50% short position in S&P and will watch the price action. As people have said, and I agree, it's a gift to make money on the short-side in this market, better to take some off the table until the intermediate trend truly does change for more than a few days.
Considerable amount of time= Patient in being accommodative WTF is the difference? LOL Market took a hit when he said "considerable amount of time", and I found the wording to be accommodative. I held back then because it didn't sound bad to me. I bet no one made any extra money selling back then. LOL Looks like another repeat to me, but we'll see.
Good bet .... I be buying the NK today and NQ overnight. Covered NQ shorts much too early yesterday. Be lookin' to buy the DAX after the initial gap down.
Quote from Trade-Ya: 01-29-04 03:24 AM "Despite lots of commentary on the dollar effecting asset valuations, I've never seen the dollar ever have any impact on asset price direction." Today's 2-Year Treasury Note Auction so a partication rate by Foreign Banks of 43%, up from 30% at the last 2-Year auction. Gee, that wouldn't have anything to do with the Dollar possibly bottoming and finding support now would it?
Waggie.. I cant believe the market has dropped big time!!.. look at the IWM its trading at $114... yes thats a 5 point drop from the top.... Yea I faded the trend and made $. Make sure to tell Tudor that its possible to make $ on the other side. The down move came fast and swift.. and you kept on calling me an idiot as a i was building a nice short. One thing to learn is that there is more ways to make $ then simply following a trend.... Sometimes u need to grow a pair of balls and whip a strong trend right in the ass and just fade the obvious. --MIKE
Gee, with that $30,000 account of yours you were able to sell 250 whole shares of IWM short, after being stopped-out about 16 trillion times over the past 9 weeks . . . And what did you make in the past 9 weeks? Care to post a screenshot of your position and P&L today? Otherwise, you sound just like your good friend James Stock, who no one believes either. Constantly bragging about imaginary trades. GET REAL
