I'm a victim of serious online fraud at brokerage

  1. I guess you are one of those that want fast food items to have nutrition labels. Or maybe your the one who thinks it's OK in 100 degree temps to walk barefoot poolside because there is no sign stating otherwise. Maybe all airline ramps should have signage reminding people that terrorism can cause death. I'm gonna try sueing my states DOT (Dept of Transportation) next time a I get a flat tire.

Ignorance is no excuse. Hopefully, because they are customer driven, TD Canada will make you whole, if the situation is fact.

  3. I am disappointed to see this "blame the victim" mentality in response to the o.p.'s fraud problem. I think it is wrong to blame fraud victims for their own victimization.

  4. Perhaps you will think differently when you find your testes and re-attach them to your body.

Perhaps you have hidden them out on your lawn. Sort of like an organ donors version of an Easter Egg hunt?

Let us know when you get them back.

there is no fundermental to blame victim. Think about if you are victim someday.

I read on a news about Internet fraud against bank a couple of years ago. The trouble is serious. Someday you will surprisely found your bank's money taken away by somebody. After you investigate you find intruder took your password and get in your account. This is not fiction. That means one password not enough. European bank already has taken action by setting up second password.

The second password is one time used and send with your monthly statement as bank service. It seems to limit your access you account monthly. Everytime you pick second password from a list from your statement.

I immediately call CIBC but rep doesnt seem have that knowledge yet.

For all of you, thank you so much for giving me all these recommendations and information. Your helps are really appreciated.

By the way, is there a way to retrieve buyers and sellers data of WOLV stock for the day of April 13, 2006. TD Waterhouse is not giving me any data now and I really do want to know what has happened. Is there a way to see whether all those fraudulent WOLV orders related to my account have reached the market or all of them getting filled up within TD Waterhouse?

I believe that I'm not the only victim in this case and really want to find other victims, is there a way to do that?

What to do when tragity come?

You take all cautious steps to protect you but trgety still come to you.

At that time, what do you should do? Someone say you need to find lawyer. It may... be right. But what is next?

So my suggetion is finding a lawyer is your backup but not first choice at this time. I can numberate a list to prove lawyer is not for everyone, especially for small guys. I means less 1 million dollar. dont bother lawyer.

Only you are the one to care about your money and your situation.

You already get plenty of advice for this thread because you share
your story with others and this situation could happen to anyone in the future.

Give TD water house the link to this thread and tell them that people on this forum will be sreading the words. People will be transfering out from TD WaterHouse. They will be losing a lot of money. You should also go to local media to give them the full story.

Looks like TD is not cooperated.

TD Water house should have the IP address recordeed. Also, ID's and transaction records should be given out.
