I'm 18, where should I start

  1. I'd have to say if I were 18 again I'd go overkill on preparation- I wouldn't let this world take sweet FA from meor I'd prepare to prevent that..so I am recommending an education...maybe Business with a focus on International Finance since you like trading..you'll get a lot of feedback that sounds like bullshit from older people..some are wrong and are right and a few will tell you that some things are impossible. What they really mean is that its impossible for them.
You'll need a strong background in technicals and meaningful success will take years of winning and losing and simultaneous ongoing education in security valuation. Don't take tips from idiots.
toughest thing for me was and still is setting stops- don't hold others responsible. I could go on and on...Have a great life

  2. going to school will certainly help you decide what u want to do. if you are looking for a big bang in the stock market, look else where my friend. it's not the same mkt as the ones you heard of how millionaires evolved. If trading is intriguing to you, I suggest u learn to trade before you blow all ur money away.

  6. fish'nchips and a wank in the evening or a glimpse of something that stirs the blood, that moves the senses and makes poets of us all. To appreciate is all. To see beauty and to guide others to it. Real life is apprehended through the spirit. Fucking 500 'babes' and having a porsche will give you a few years of physical pleasure, nothing more. The world is a wonderful and mysterious place and we are but flies to the gods. We all end up with fish and chips and a wank. We all end up in the same place and if you have spent your life chasing glossy objects then you will have probably missed so many honest things that lift the soul. And when you are sitting there at the bus terminal having just pissed yourself you may regret all those empty, momentary and emotionally cold shags. Seek the truth. Find yourself. Be honest and laugh at the world's immature pursuit of empty pleasure.

  8. I first started trading when I was 20 and in college. What you will quickly notice is that unless you have a lot of money to play with, the commissions will eat you alive. TD Ameritrade gave me 45 days unlimited trading for putting up $2k, and I learned a lot during that time, but after that point I was often afraid to transact because of the commissions (which was a stupid beginner move). Either way, if you only have a couple thousand bucks, $10/trade adds up big time. :)

You need to learn a lot before you start handpicking stocks, stick with a broad based indexs. Forewarning, Id probably hold off on the spus till we see what happens in crude, goldman just started its roll Monday and will probably keepdriving it lower till the index decides to start buying Sep. Those energy stocks have been carrying that index.
