I'm 18, where should I start

  1. What a massive pile of shit to dig through.

OP only 2 useful posts, one i quoted below and the other is by mand to read this book. You will never get far by asking people what stocks to buy, need to figure it out yourself.

but atticus, how does he or anyone retail for that matter buy variance swaps? I cant find the instrument on IB.

From my understanding the basic idea is to profit from the spx puts premium. But if the spx drops, then the var swap is your hedge(?) since as the spx drops the volatility increases.

  2. I would bother setting you straight , but I realize why bother lol.
Its the internet, who cares, I have my money, thats all that matters.
You are correct though , I didn't make my $$$ from trading, thats for sure, I started growing it from trading @ 2005 , which was when I was 25

When you have money you want to learn how to protect/grow it, you don't go in with a million dollar account.

    ------
doesn't matter, i gave my advice in here already, people who read itwill read it, people who don't, I don't care anyway.

As my advice said, make your money, worry about girls after.
Other stuff was my own ego tripping which I do regularly for other reasons.

    -------------

one of the reasons I think most people should listen carefully , is because I am extremelly happy in life.

some people can make money , Or some people can date women, but only when you have both , financial, women, security, and a healthy self esteem of yourself, do you become really happy.

I personally don't think most people can reach this epic height of happinesses, without being a strong player in all 3 games, money , women, and yourself (workout, confidence, etc)

I'm tripping again, but yeah, i'm always tripping when i post, life is good. I don't post that often anyway.
    --------

The order to achieve that is always.

    1. First you make your money
    2. then you get your power/respect
    3. Then you get your women

Thats my point for my bs in this thread

  5. I don't know how it is anyplace else, but I will personally vouch for what coolweb is saying here is 100% true in NYC.

    Jaded?

    Maybe

    Accurate?

    Yes, 100%

And you're either living in a fantasy world or else you are extremely lucky if your experience is otherwise.

P.S. And I have no idea if he is a millionaire or not, LOL. :D

  6. Focus on your efforts to improve your finances (you're off to a good start): the women will follow.

    To start your trading career:

    1) Go to Barchart.com
    2) Click the 'Signals' tab
    3) Starting at the top, find the first stock that trades options
    a) Verify that the stock has significant volume (>100K daily)
    b) Buy the Call option 1 pt out of the money.
    c) Expiraton should be >30 days from date of purchase.

    Good luck

  7. In a nutshell. The varswap/vanilla put trade is a common otc buy-write. Sorry, I was joking. There isn't any replicable retail strategy there.
