Illinois Sex education

  1. The bill doesn't do that, and in fact specifies "age appropriate." The bill is primarily about sexual disease education, so for K - 3 it would probably be about what viruses are and how to prevent infection by washing your hands.

You can read the bill here:

    http://www.ilga.gov/legislation/ful...DocNum=99&GAID=3&LegID=734&SpecSess=&Session=

Be sure to read the second page of amendments.

    Actually it does:

"(6) Course material and instruction shall advise

    -11- LRB093 05269 NHT 05359 b
1 pupils that it is unlawful for males or females of any
2 age to engage in sexual conduct or have sexual relations
3 with a minor as specified in Article 12 of the Criminal
    4 Code of 1961."

  2. Introducing this kind of information to kindergarten age children is not appropriate...they are not emotionally mature enough to know what to do with it...I dare say the majority would be hearing and having their curiosity peeked far too soon...and pass it on to others in inappropriate ways...

The reason I only wrote it partially is because I view modesty still appropriate. And also do not know the rules regarding appropriate language on this site....

And this topic was in the curriculum I heard read...that was why I started this thread...I would like to actually read this curriculum myself and wondered if anyone knew where it might be available.

That is NOT what was read by the media.....thus the actual program needs to be made public for all to see...if the curriculum is that innocent Obama would be exonerated....so why not let the curriculum be read by all then all could make a decision based on facts...not media he said/she...

  4. Illinois Sex Education?......Oh God! I wonder if they still use the Art Linkletter video for the 8th grade boys. We all laughed in unison at certain parts of the video. It did work however.

  5. Exactly. But you can read the bill for yourself.

As I wrote before, curriculums are not written into bills, and not written before bills are passed.

There is no way that Obama can be exonerated when he would have had no way of seeing any curriculum about a bill that didn't pass anyway.

You can read the bill and judge for yourself whether you agree or disagree with it. Personally, I think it's a badly written bill, but certainly not at all what Fox says it is.

  6. I hope you didn't laugh at the part where Art Linkletter pulls out his junk. :)
