I hope you're right. But can't help but wonder how many thought the same thing about the 18th amendment. Kudos for publicly admitting it.
Good that you've finally come around. As for "limits" on household with felons and mentally ill" I don't understand this. If you live in a household that has a felon or a mentally ill patient, then you should simply not be able to obtain one (a semi auto).
But guns are banned in Chicago, and it's illegal for a felon to own a gun at all. I'm shocked at the disregard career criminals have for the law. Obvioulsly we need more laws, more restrictions, more bans. That'll learn'em. http://www.suntimes.com/news/crime/...s-found-in-homes-of-paroled-gang-members.html
But is it fair to prevent, let's say a woman, from owning a fire arm just because one of her siblings is a felon or mentally ill? She might need an ability to protect her life as well.
You're preaching to the choir. ishopatpublix, futurecurrents and more than a few gun control advocates however want YOUR 9mm banned.
If she chooses to live with a felon or has the misfortune to have someone in her household classified as mentally ill, then yes. I am ok with it. If she needs protection, then she should save her money and spend it on a nice security system, dog and taser. Or limit her to a shotgun.
