Cheating is much easier than you might expect.
Step 1: Check obituaries for recently deceased.
Step 2: Check a phone book or online to find address of deceased.
Step 3: Use name & address online to find out if they're registered.
Step 4: Show up to their polling place to cast a vote in their name.

I could easily find this info in 5-10 minutes if I wanted to vote illegally. There are several million dead voters that are still on the voting rolls. We really have no idea how many people vote illegally, especially in states like California where things like this are encouraged.

What we really need is voter ID laws that require voter ID cards. Those cards could be easily deactivated whenever someone dies. That would greatly reduce cases of fraud, and it would also stop people from accidentally or intentionally voting more than once.

The penalty for voter fraud is 5 years imprisonment and $10,000 fine. How many would take that risk for one lousy vote? Those committing massive fraud would only risk it because they are being paid by someone handsomely, and I am sure if they are election officials will destroy any evidence of their crime. It is now worth it to cheat because they could be paid tens of thousands of dollars or maybe, even more depending on how many votes they manufacture.
Remember the election official in Florida who was a black woman? She got fired by the governor but, no other penalty! No criminal prosecution when she probably, committed voter fraud in a grand scale! In more than one county, the votes cast exceeded the number of registered voters. She found a couple of votes by illegals (foreigners) but, instead, of nullifying them, counted them!

10 Orgeon voters have pleaded guilty to voter fraud stemming from the 2016 election. All of their felony charges were reduced to violations, and none of their sentences involved jail time. Most paid a penalty and did community service.

If you live in a liberal state, you're likely to be protected if you're caught voting illegally.

Did you read the article the majority were people with medical conditions or elderly who are forgetful.

Dag. Paul Ryan wanted to throw grandmas off of a cliff and LS1Z wants to throw the aged and infirmed in jail.

So 10 people out of millions are aged and disabled and this is your *proof* of what, the natural human condition?

This is wrong. Intent matters in legal matters. The cases of people voting illegally are usually people doing so without an intent to break the law. It’s usually the wrong district or clerical mistakes.

Imposing “requirements” without a provable harm is not good law.

I never said that. I just linked that article to show that many people end up avoiding felony charges whenever they're convicted of voter fraud. Paying a fine & doing community service isn't going to be a strong deterrent to this type of behavior.

I don't care where voting fraud comes from. It can come from identity fraud. It can come from an individual intentionally or unintentionally voting twice. It can even come from error as the result of "the natural human condition" as you put it. We need something in place to make sure that these things don't happen.

You’re not going to deter a 76 year old woman from forgetting she voted in Washington state. She’s 76!

Nah, it's just partisan DA's trying to inflate the voter fraud numbers before dismissing/pleading out cases they know can't be won in a court room.

It will deter her from voting twice if she scans her voter ID card and it comes up that she has already voted.
