IKEA Tables / question on Quality

  1. OK, thanks for the excellent posts.....so here's what I did.

I found what I wanted and ordered on line....the shipping came to $268. WTF? Screw that.

This was for a 63" galant in black as opposed to buying 2 pairs of legs and a solid hardwood door to make my own. I've got a somewhat specialized situation I'm working on...nevermind.

Well, I see they've got a store 4 1/2 hours from my home so what the hell? It's Sunday right.

Nice place. Wifey found a few thingies for the kitchen etc., and I got my table plus a few extras as the idea fairy was workin' overtime.

The quality is fine for what I am doing and it matches the decor as well. The stability and support will easily accomodate 4 monitors, PC, 2 laptops and a high end photo scanner/printer. I also bought an end piece to get an extra 23 inches. The extra space allows some paper work area as well.

Good stuff...thanks for the responses all!!

  2. I have 2 IKEA Galant desks and 2 generic desks in my home office. I'm in the process of replacing the generic desks. IKEA office systems are wonderful and sturdy.
