That was fun, got positive slippage (filling at 1.02) and put in my exit at what I thought was 1.05, didn't get there by the end of the day so figured I'd just post today saying t hat I held. Well, I checked my position just now and then I realized my sell order was for 2.05, lol, this one worked for my advantage, exited at the current price of 1.11 making quite a bit on this trade. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us. I subscribe to stockfetcher.com. If you ever have time to share some of your scan criteria, it would be much appreciated. Mike
I have several basic scans, my favorite is checking for low below a 3 std. dev. bollinger band lower band
That nose dive looks fishy, although aftermarket action looks promising. I think I'm gonna sit out today too, my losses with this system usally come when I start getting lenient with my picks.
After a few days without anything good I dug up CAU, looks fine to me. Looking forward to trading HSI sunday night on my IB account, having lots of fun there. BUY 849 shares of CAU, Canyon Resource New at LIMIT of 3.55 DAY
haha, I believe we both joined/discovered SF at around the same time (around may if I remember correctly) and we became friends since then. Over the summer 2003 I actually was given a 3 month crash-course in trading by therumpledone (avery, you probably know him if you know muddy), he's extremely successful, led me to great profitability during the summer mostly day trading and swing trading. I don't think I used muddy's method more than once or twice for several reasons. I don't like long holds, rather I like quick profits that are compounded, time is very valuable here, the trick is to keep your equity's velocity high, if it's not, move it to where it will be. I also am unable to watch the open, so I enter at a limit based on previous days close (or after market action, a little discretion is used). Edit: Just wanted to add, muddy's method (just like mine) is very successful, especially if you trade it strictly as he does. He lives off the profits if I remember correctly and quite comfortably I believe.
I did yes, but as you said the after market looks strong, HEC has tried 3 times now to penetrate 1.00 but it keeps holding. I think it has some strength in it still. Still holding HEC, at least another day or so... A lot of the stocks you mention dont show up on my scans, do they have really low volume? I only look at 500k+ shares traded per day.
