FA Nice that you are trying to keep the peace, but not at the expense of exposing the OP for the SforB he is. There is no justification for allowing him to try and convince others that since he can't, etc. simply to let him rant or to keep the thread "polite". There is no "prejudgment" here because OP has already stated his worthless opinions, and more importantly, TA works.
You're a shill for 'The Expert' attempting to keep pumping this worthless thread with worthless endless posts, much in the same vein as 'chArt of Deception' and 'Why is the Obvious not so obvious'.
At the first hint of, "it doesn't work because it didn't work for me" then I'm right with ya. But until then, if we chartists have any faith in our own methodology, then surely we can stand up to a bit of cool, objective, intelligent scrutiny. & I don't mean, "nah nah, TA SUKS and iz for woosies coz lookin at chartz izzz GEYYY!" or, "TA doesn't work, as I tried it for a week, didn't really know what I was doing and didn't finish that week with a cool million." I used to work with a city analyst that was very against charts, he used to come out with the most ridiculous, deeply flawed arguments. He had a major character flaw (at least for trading), in that he couldn't accept when he was wrong, a decent chap otherwise. Most of his arguments in fact stemmed from TA not being able to "tell the future," like Gypsy Rose Lee, whoo spooky. He couldn't get past that whole prophet vs. profit thing, which IMO is at the crux of this entire FA vs TA debate.
Is that an ET fad or something, to immediately call someone a shill if they don't agree with you (possibly because you don't have the intellect to construct a civil & reasoned response)? that's the 2nd time it's happened to me on here, bizarre. Stop being such a precious little princess and take your head out of your own a**e... If I wanted to argue with children then I'd go off and play on YouTube. Here's a thing, any signal from a TA indicator is on it's own worse than useless, however when used in conjunction with a number of other indicators or TA methods, that are all saying the same thing, then it can point to a high probability move, also volume and momentum can act as leading indicators.
Cont'd. Indicator the clue is in the name, it indicates, it doesn't tell. If you view TA from the "holy grail" perspective, ie. take an entry off of just a MACD cross or whatever, then of course you are doomed to a pitiful failure. It is just one piece of evidence (I don't use MACD incidentally, at least not in the way it was designed to be used). As technical traders we need to work on the principles of Napoleonic Law, ie. guilty until proven innocent and we need to view any isolated signal with suspicion.
