If you had only 1 hour to look at a financial statement, what would you glance at?

    Rule of 40.
    Works well when looking at high flying tech, from the standpoint of what the "big money" :rolleyes: will pay up for so one can theoretically coattail buying a paper tiger that won't be profitable for the next 5 years at a minimum.

    If you're looking for momentum stocks then growth of sales and operating income. If you are looking at distressed companies then EBIT/Interest Expense and Debt/EBITDA.

    With one hour you can pretty much look at all financial statements for a number of years. But if I had to look at just one thing I would look at Retained Earnings/Accumulated Deficit

    Why do I see companies that are growing revenue and EPS by like 40% but stock doesn't go anywhere? Is EPS really the real deal?
