About the only good news is the Jehaddis are fighting each other for the carcass they used to call Iraq. All that US training and all those billions ? The whole frigging lot ran away at the first shot !! ---Pitiful.

American leadership ? You are better off without it. They have lost all their money and ours. Call that a foreign policy ? No way.

If you want to know what the US's foreign policy is ? Then ask the Israelis.

In Iraq they support Saddam with quantities of weapons and money against Iran. Then they attack Saddam and spend huge amounts to support the Sunnis in Saudi Arabia for space to attack Saddam. Now they are supporting the Shia against the Sunni uprising. ( the whole cowardly US trained army flees in terror as the first shots are heard ).

They support the Jihadis with money and weapons against The Soviets in Afghanistan,
then they support the Afghan Govt. against the same Jihaddies with massive amounts of weapons, money and training

In Syria they support the Sunni alliance against the Shia Govt until months later they realize the opposition is largely the Al Quaeda they oppose.

Now this may seem to some to be a complete lack of understanding of the Middle East !!

Certainly not in the USA's interest to waste all that money and lives. But it is in the Israeli interest.The once strong locally Iraquis are just a rabble now. The once strong Syria - also just a rabble. Are you still with me ?

The latest developments have the US trying to cozy up to Shia Iran !! to fight the Sunni uprising. This should bleed Iran a bit more after all those US inspired sanctions.
Again Israel is the beneficiary of a weakened Iran.
