Points well taken. There is logic to what you state. Panama is doing much better than other central American countries - i give you that. Peace!!!!
It was intended as my opinion of Panama. Sorry if it hurt you. Do you want Sharpton tel.# ??? He is not busy at the moment since his last battle with Imus is over. I could not care less what opinion readers here have about me. Since I had been to Panama I gave my opinion on the country. You don't like it, then go ahead and call the PC police.
Since I am perhaps the only other than you person on ETwho had visited that place I must agree that the island is pretty beyond imagination. Even though I spent 5 days in the hospital there, I still loved every minute of it. All of what you state about the island is true except for one: there are sharks but you have to venture outside of the lagoon, and there are also eels - not deadly but unpleasant to deal with (ask me how I know). As for Tahiti - I think people were also super friendly especially on the outer islands. If I had the time and $$$$ I would have a tough time selecting one over the other destination. The only problem with the Cook Islands is the property ownership - not easy to buy land there. It helps if you marry a local and since many are Mormon having wifey #2 is not a problem for them. Unfortunately, my wife was under a very strong impression that this kind of sacrifice on my part would be too much, so the whole idea died.
Im renting the condo in Southbeach right now bcuz Im not sure which building I want to buy in. My lease ends in 6 months so as that time nears, I;ll have to decide where I want to buy. I have no idea, you should try and ask around here and see how long it takes to get lynched. 10 millions tourists a year got it all wrong. I bet all those Americans or British who bought a house in Italy, the first thing they asked was " How much to have a child melted in an acid barrel by a mafioso?" Get a grip dude!
switzerland: no capital gains taxes! i found this document last weekend: http://www.estv.admin.ch/d/dokumentation/publikationen/dok/dossier/f6.pdf (page 21: no cg taxes on futures and options). i wonder if there is anyone here trading from switzerland, who could possibly confirm this information. i´d seriously consider moving to switzerland. i live in germany now, they just changed the law, you will be paying a flat rate (25 %) after 2009, but the problem is, you won´t be allowed to deduct any costs involved, which means you´ll have to pay taxes on gross profits (commissions included!).
