If you could live anywhere

  1. i lived in japan - there was absolutely no street crime. in fact, if you dropped a glove or umbrella on the ground, you could probably go back the next day and it would be on a railing or nearby.

if there is "some" crime now in japan, i seriously doubt it is anything like the USA.

  3. Replying from Eastern Czech Republic right now. Simple life is real ly great. But humidity and no air con is a bummer at times. Considering buying a flat here, althoughwith weak USD buying chopped in half since first visit in 01. It would be just for vacation for my Czech wife, her parents and I. Having just spent a weak in the UK, can't handle the depressing weather, so I think that rules out Vancouver for sure. Will check out Panama next year most likely, but not sure the humidity will soot me well no that I am being reminded what it is like to not have any air con. Everything has it's pros and cons as we all know. Can't wait to get back home next week and trade.

  5. And there was an article about racists on TV the other day: those countries that most disliked Aussies. LOL.

  7. I moved to the Philippines about 7 months ago and trade the US market / Futures through IB. I only pay US taxes on my capital gains. No way the tax collectors here would know so they won't be collecting. The 12% VAT I pay for everything should be plenty enough for the corrupt politicians to steal.

Cost of living is very cheap and occasional trips to the beaches do wonders for the "trading stress". In general though, if you're used to the standard of living in the US, I'm not sure you'd like it here.

Internet sucks, you need a backup ISP. Customer service is horrible and in general, quite stupid. Time would be better spent picking your nose than counting on CS to help you around here. And that goes for ALL kinds of service be it mobile carrier, cable TV, Internet, etc.

Also, it's quite cheap to travel to surrounding countries like China/HK, Singapore, Thailand, etc for vacation.

  8. If you think Czech Republic has humidity, then Panama will melt you. I had been to both counties AND Czech Rep. is 100% better humidity wise and .... otherwise.

  9. Anybody who is familiar with German history would know that Germans are anything but gay.

As for French women. Funny it is OK to insult hem, yet when something is being mentioned about Aboriginal people of Australia you get bend out of shape. Double standard anyone?
