"Monday marked Bitcoin Pizza Day — the date seven years ago when Laszlo Hanyecz completed the first ever purchase with bitcoin. Hanyecz bought two pizzas for 10,000 bitcoin, a quantity of the cryptocurrency that is now worth more than $21 million. Bitcoin aficionados use that milestone every year to track the growth of the cryptocurrency. " http://mashable.com/2017/05/23/bitcoin-pizza-day-20-million/#NFqCw80A3mqO
I missed the AAPL re-boot at $16. (Had no account.) I missed the GOOG open at ~$80?? (Still had no account.) (I never even got near FB at.... $20?? Whatever it was -- I was across the room, snickering at the "suckers"....) I jumped on BABA at $93, and rode it to $120, then jumped out, bought in again in the $80s, jumped out again in the $90s...... and just got scared. Today, it's ("only") $122, so maybe that was a good call,.....) In recent history, I worked STRP from $35-ish down to a $24?? basis, and when it hit $35 again, sold for a nice total haul. I did NOT see $180-$200 in their future 4? months hence (May 2017)..... I was even SCTYed into TSLA recently at $180, and jumped ship at $205 (a break-even for SCTY)..... Missing the +$300 stuff entirely. BUT I NEVER COULD CONCEIVE of a $75-zero-zero zero, zero *ZERO* zero, miss. Holy cow. {head shaking...}
Forget about investing and looking at things in hindsight and feeling sorry -- you can still more than make up for that lost time with options trading,
You can still jump on ripple https://www.elitetrader.com/et/threads/ripple-is-ripping-can-it-pass-bitcoin.309518/
Interesting to me that $100 worth of Gouda Tulipbulbs in 1634 at the very start of Tulipmania were "only" worth $6000 at the 1637 peak. This Bitcoin price action makes Tulipmania look like a choppy range-bound market in comparison.
