It's a rock. It's tumbling through space. Nobody has suggested that its ecliptic is artificial in any way. This guy is nuts and yes, it's career suicide.
Although the evidence that this object is extraterrestial related is less than even circumstantial, it would have been a great scientific opportunity to examine this extra-solar system object. Radiological dating, chemical composition analysis, and mechanical structure review would likely give scientists greater understanding of our universe, sun-planet development, and possible insight to a “nearby” star-planet system. It may be worth while to have a spacecraft with long term deep space capability in high Earth’s orbit on standby for future such opportunties or for approaching asteroid mitigation capabilities.
