Yes, I have stockpiled everything needed, which is guns and ammo. If the absolute worst occurs, my family will survive it and other families that do not own guns/ammo will not.
No offense Peil, but I find your question to be wrong! The HONEST question is: How (after looking at http://www.usdebtclock.org ) do you HONESTLY think the US debt (either current or unfunded future entitlements) will REALLY be paid??? If you wish to post, but you do not have a credible answer other than "Well we had this problem in the past, blah, blah..." STFU!!! Answer the question of how you think EVERYBODY in the US is going to pay the $39,000 per person of present debt or the $177,000 per person of unfunded liabilities!!! Oh, and to the f'ing morons who will only post ad hominems...I won't respond further to you...BUT, I will laugh my fat fool head off when I see you die in the streets being eaten by the unprepared masses! To the knucklebrains from outside of the US...who think gun ownership won't help them...you go off in your little unprotected world...mock as you may...we will watch your children eaten...sometimes in horror...sometimes laughing at how stupid their parents were! If you post a response, BUT have no REAL answer - you prove yourself to be a wishful thinking f'ing moron! -gastropod
I'm confused....the economy already imploded. Happen last year. Apples numbers today seem to point to spot by spot recovery. So will the GDP numbers, Oil Prices, etc. Question are: Will you make money this year. Those who are self employeed, will you still be this year. For those who work for someone, will you be laid off this year. People are surving the down turn everyday. The worst case of "Implosion" now lies in the Market, not the economy. Economy may eak along at 2% gdp per quarter however, the real threat is the Market Crash due to "OBAMA" and the rest of the idiots trying to push their agenda still.
Indubitably. The debt cannot be paid off conventionally. A creative restructuring can and may likely offer a type of solution but the authors and "types of solutions" haven't been presented yet, nor am I expecting anything short of forced restructuring even if it is put off for yet a little while. I would prefer all Fed crimes be treated as such and all debts removed and collections started where that moneys went. (From the inception of the interest moneys charged.) I would agree with that as a solid start of a "Just Restructuring" ... in essence ... these debts aren't real nor owed ... in fact with all the compounding ... we as a Nation are owed. Doubt we will ever see that level of truth and accountability however. That leaves revolution and or war or extreme oppression or a "Global Solution" given enough time. (Any combination of these are likely in the arrival of the last) I believe it is in the plans for the latter. Create the problem and provide the solution and herd the masses along towards that solution. As for weapons being deterrents ... fact is they are. Anyone who doesn't get that is just ignorant of human history, facts and data and any sense of reality. Their "stuff" will belong to the prepared people as history has proven uniformly. Even with mass invasion, armies and advanced technology there remains battle logistics and supply lines. Creative peoples who are the oppressed know this. Go Wolverines !
Here's a list of things for an emergencies. http://www.emergencypreparationforum.com/the-first-100-things-to-run-out-in-an-emergency-50.html
EMERGLOBAL and unretired - thanks for responding!!! I hear what you are saying and I don't disagree - even if I come across as "the lunatic fringe" And yes, I REALLY am preparing for the worst! To all the jackasses out there who don't get the picture...you have NO IDEA how I am planning. In fact...I have corresponded with others on this board...you have NO IDEA how they are planning!!! To some...I hear what people here are saying...."trade the volatility" - I am not disagreeing. That may be good for a trading practice...but, as far as a larger survival practice...that ignores the obvious - the US is in "when does the US collapse mode!" The level of our debt is CLEAR!!! I can just about hear the bull, morons clamoring...."the economy is getting better and blah blah..." short term...maybe...fundamentals - fundamentals are HORRIBLY WRONG!!!! In the short term these "volatility" traders make money, but the ultimate end is HORROR! -gastropod
A number of us in different walks of life in our region have hunker down and bugout levels. Why not? Gold and silver matter today in Port-Au-Prince. Even in that Mad-Max hellhole, street vendors are still selling food and water to those who can afford it. Same goes for a ride out of town to a slightly less hellish part of the country- nobody rides free. I've said this many times, but if you're thinking not just economic collapse but complete and utter Haiti/Mad-Max/The Postman/WaterWorld/The Day After/Jericho type devastation, you'd get WAY more bang for your hoarded buck by accumulating a large stash of antibiotics. www.inhousepharmacy.com (and I vouch for this site- no scamming going on there) has 200 tablet Erythromycin bottles for $56. I've already got mine (and many other types). How about you? Which do you think will fetch a better price in Bartertown, four ounces of silver or 12 full courses of antibiotics? Both cost the same exact price... now. The thing is, having weapons/ammo/gold/silver/antibiotics/food stashed can only get you through the immediate aftermath. To survive longer term, joining a community/gang/posse of armed men will be a perquisite to survival (anyone else watch Jericho, btw?). Because the criminals & looters will eventually get organized too, and they'll be free to take anything you have unless you can match (or at least challenge) their firepower.
lets say it does happen thats why I have the poor mans jame bond and the anarchist cookbook on a bookshelf
