I was looking at backyard square foot gardening but the b%^ch of a wife forced me out of the house. The current GF loves the outdoors and lives in a campground on the California Coast though, I could go do that, our only overhead would be ammo and food really.. we could trek up a creek from the Ocean up into the hills and plant a stealth garden, just divert a little water to it. The topsoil here is truly marvelous. Illegals do that all along the California Aqueduct. We could hunt too.. we'd probably be ok. If things collapse the marijuana industry would probably collapse too, it would be safer to go into the woods because you would not have the worry of crossing up a marijuana grower. They go really nuts before harvest, they smoke the stuff and they get paranoiac about their crops and bad things happen to anybody stumbling across it... or one could go find the growers, blow their underused brains, use them for fertilizer and convert the operation to food growing and start a new generation of wealth.. the possibilities are truly... wonderful to think about...

I don't think hoarding stuff will work, whether it be food, ammo, or antibiotics. There will always be those who want to forcibly 'spread the wealth'.

  5. Glenn Beck's sermon on the three Gs: God, Gold and Guns:

Are you listening, peil? Your prophet is speaking to you.

  6. Indeed. Particularly among the Far Right. That's why they're focusing on Glenn Beck's three Gs. (See above.)

  7. Excuse me for being cynical... You write first you are stock-piling...

    But then you write...

    obtain my concealed carry permit

Do you see the irony on this? You are planning for chaos, yet you have a permit... Your conscious is split in half that is going crazy and the other half that is saying we will all remain orderly. If there is a collapse you can't have it both ways...

in the aftermath of Katrina...not During the hurricane but weeks after they were still shooting at helicopters and killing people on the street..imagine had they not recieved any assistance ever...multiply that by multiple cities and by multiple weeks and you get the idea of how orderly it will go down.

  10. I sincerely hope that we get out of this economic mess in an orderly and peaceful way. Everyone, including myself, will be much better off.

However, a lot of intelligent people are very concernced about the US debt and the way our government is handling the situation. It is not hard to imagine scenarios in which the debt problem spirals out of control and leads to social unrest. I think that it is very reasonable to take a few simple steps to protect one's finances, personal safety and self-sufficiency. I appreciate the input of those people who share these concerns and have suggested ways to protect yourself.

For those who ignore the warning signs and choose to criticize and ridicule those of us trying to educate ourselves and prepare for possible outcomes, I certainly hope that you do not have to learn the hard way.
