If the Articles never go to the Senate then was the President really impeached?

    This is a good question because she is very close to making this a zero sum equation where she could end up holding the bag.

    But of all of the politicians in America I trust Pelosi and McConnell to be the most shrewd. If either of them are the one putting a move on someone then they most likely will get their way.

    This is an interesting showdown in that it’s basically between the two of them and Pelosi is leveraging on behalf of Schumer to get a go ahead to call witnesses.

    I know it seems ironic because here on the forum it was speculated that Trump and republicans want witnesses but it turns out that is not true, at all.

    Hey Uni-ball, you dont comprehend. We are guided by the Constitution, not a dictionary.

    The Senate shall have the sole Power to try all Impeachments. When sitting for that Purpose, they shall be on Oath or Affirmation. When the President of the United States is tried, the Chief Justice shall preside: And no Person shall be convicted without the Concurrence of two-thirds of the Members present.
    Judgment in Cases of Impeachment shall not extend further than to removal from Office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any Office of honor, Trust or Profit under the United States; but the Party convicted shall nevertheless be liable and subject to Indictment, Trial, Judgment and Punishment, according to Law.

    If Trump has already been impeached, then THE SENATE HAS SOLE POWER to try the impeachment. Nancy Pelosi is trying to set terms of the Senate and is therefore in violation of US Constitution. Its not the first time, its not the last.
